How do you want to feel at 7am?

Before I draw a single line of a kitchen, that's the question I ask. Not how many seats. Not how much storage. How do you want to feel when the morning light comes through the window and the coffee's on?

This kitchen was designed around a slow morning — warm oak, handmade tile, desert light pouring in. A room that holds you before the day begins.

Design for the feeling first. The floor plan follows.

It took a few days to get this post together because I was so emotionally overwhelmed by the special surprise party my husband managed to pull off.

To all the people who showed up- thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really felt the love and appreciate each one of you.

Special thanks to @alexa_zappia for traveling all the way from Buffalo to celebrate my special day. Started as an amazing AP but has become a dear friend.

@actresskatewatson for coordinating with Peter and helping him pull off this amazing surprise.

@rsqnu one of my best friends and more like a brother at this point. Coming in from VA just for me and telling me all sorts of lies… which I forgive- but don’t ever do it again.

And most importantly my husband @petermichaelb who shows me he cares everyday but this was something I will never forget. I love you ❤️

Oh and of course to Anthony aka “Daddy” for driving all the way up from San Diego for the… entertainment 😉IYKYN
