This piece was my way of honoring the young, hungry dancer in me. The girl walking the streets of NYC, daydreaming about a life on stage. The moment I’d put my headphones on, the world became my own music video.

In those early days, my friends and I would dance on the subway for money, yep, straight up “SHOWTIME!” This song was one of our favorites. Those were humble beginnings, and I honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m so proud of that young Kai for refusing to give up, even when she had every reason to. If she could see where we are now… she’d absolutely GAG. 😂

To every young artist chasing a dream: do the work, stay patient, keep swimming, and trust the process. Your path won’t look like anyone else’s, but if you stay consistent, your moment will come.

Ten years ago to the day, we released our second album: “This is not the end of the world.” We wanted to share some time capsule nuggets from back then with you to mark the occasion! So if you haven’t listened to the album, or if you just haven’t in ten years, maybe today’s a good day to walk down memory lane with us! Also, there’s nothing great released today on Spotify, so this should be a welcome treat! Recorded by Joe Varela, artwork by our favorite tattoo artist Mark Thorne from Screaming Ink Custom Tattoos, we are still really proud of this album. Cheers to the last ten years! And we were right, this is not the end of the world!

That’s a WRAP 2025 Nationals! ⭐️
What an incredible week to top an incredible season!
HC has stood the test of time - 22 years and counting... Wow, this is my 16th year with this extraordinary company that puts dance kids first and it just keeps getting better and better! Congratulations Bill and Jacquelyn and everyone on staff, crew and faculty for making this company and the time we spend together so fun and meaningful. HC is so much more than a job to me… it’s where my passion turns into purpose, where I get to be a part of making dreams come true and be surrounded by the most beautiful and talented beings. Truly, one of the most rewarding jobs in my life. So much gratitude for this experience and I look forward to continuing the journey and making a difference. To all the dancers, you’ll never know how much you LIGHT up my life! I’m so very proud of you and honored to help guide your dance adventure. Can’t wait to see you again soon. Last Memorial Day weekend was the literal embodiment of the word “bittersweet.” We’d just said goodbye to the love of my life, my little son Marly, who passed suddenly just 20 days prior. My birthday on the 23rd was not a happy one - it was somber, and full of sorrow.

In lieu of a party, me and Marly’s closest friends and family gathered at my brother Marcus’s home for a Mo-morial, a celebration of life, in tribute to the light of my life, Marly Snow 🤍 Everyone came out to offer their condolences, and memorialize my kid. And when I say everyone, I mean practically everyone - 83 people in attendance, and 15 of his canine buddies and cousins. I’ve never been so broken, and so touched, all in one moment.

I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to be able to post about it at the time, everything hurt too much. It still does. But a year later, I’m finding strength in his everlasting memory, and writing children’s books about his adventures ✍🏾

Marly was for everyone, he was the kind of soul who everyone felt close to, and brightened up every room he strolled into. On this Mo-Morial Day, I just wanted to say thank you, to everyone who poured their love into giving my child the most fitting, beautiful send-off I could imagine. Wherever he is, he’s barking, loud and proud, knowing how loved he was by all of us. As we all know, legends live forever, and I hope every year on this weekend, he touches your heart, and if you listen carefully, I’ll bet you can hear his transcendent bark, cuz my boy left a hell of a mark, on all of us 🤍 Happy Mo-morial Day fam 🐾 #1Mo
