❤️🖤💚SZN 2 Special Co-Hosts💚🖤❤️

With the upcoming midterm election as well as KCMO City positions opening up next year, we will have a few KCMO City Council & Mayoral candidates* as Co-Hosts for some of our shows!

Another way we can add to our mission of centering Black voices & Black joy, is bringing in who may potentially (an some currently) represent Black voices locally. As well as helping candidates connect with potential voters and HOPEFULLY add excitement around voting in general!

MO Voter registration for Nov. 3rd has ended... But you can still get registered to vote for future elections!
KS Voter registration for Nov. 3rd is October 13th.
(Always check with your local election board to verify dates)

Voter Recommendations (use your best judgement)
Vote411.org to check your voter status
Locally made voter education: www.truth2vote.com

*If you are a 2027 KCMO candidate and seeing this & didn't get asked, PLEASE blame it to the head & capacity, not the heart ❤️

Part 2...

So yesterday, I put a video up about how we, at Frosty Frogs, have been holding up and doing, right...? I mean, the main purpose was just to say “hi” and encourage people to come thru because, as we know, when that weather/season changes, things can get tight, lol!

God knew what was on my heart and what’s been in my heart, ESPECIALLY during this season (in life).

Before I even posted the video, I pulled up to the store to check on some things, and to my surprise, parked right next to me was the homie Big Rob (@BigRobSavage).

We said “what up,” gave each other some love, then proceeded inside the store so he could check it out for the first time.

As we were talking, out of nowhere he asked me, “How much was your biggest day so far?”

At first, I really didn’t know how to answer that question. Then I finally told him a number.

He said, “OK. I’m going to write you a check, and from now on, I’m your biggest day!”

As Joye and I stood there in amazement, he then told me, “Yeah, man. God just put it on my heart to be a blessing to you, Bro”

...hence, the song choice. 😉🙏🏾

To all my ENTREPRENEURS out here in the daily grind:

KEEP PURSUING!!!

Keep waking up and chopping away at your dreams, your goals, and that vision that probably only YOU will ever fully see and believe!!!

But throughout the journey, keep one thing at your core — GOD.

Don’t just lean on Him and give Him praise when things are good!

Praise Him and rejoice in Him even more when you’re going thru the storm!

Because if He’ll bring you to it, He’ll bring you thru it! But YOU gotta know and believe that!

God, I THANK YOU for all of the Angels that You constantly place around me!

I thank You even more for Blessing my heart, my thoughts, and my desires so that I can continue to showcase, guide, and provide for my family, friends, and those who are affected through the Grace and Mercy that You place over my life and allow me to operate through!

Because of You, I can!

Amen... 🙏🏾

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY, BLACKSONIAN 💜✊🏾
*Long post alert*

I have a special connection to OUR museum @nmaahc as I am sure many of us do. 🙏🏾

As we celebrate 10 years of the #Blacksonian, I also celebrate 10 years of survivorship. On April 21, 2016 (🕊😭), I was dianosed with Stage 2B IDC (#BreastCancer). 🩷

Much like 2026, that year was full of discomfort, transformation, and God's timing. From losing my boobs to homelessness; from Kaepernick taking a knee to the election outcome come, 2016 was crazy...BUT GOD. 🙌🏾

The silver lining in all of that was the opening weekend of the National Museum of African American History & Culture, Sept 24-26. I was losing my hair due to chemo, but always kept it cute! (Peep the headband 💅🏾)

I was blessed to witness the historic opening, A People's Journey, because of my sista-frien, Angela. (1st pic)

The next day, I hosted a haircut party India' Journey. My hometown homie and lil bro, Joey, flew to DC to shave my head. Only a BFF will shave their head with you and that's what Phil did! (2nd pic)

I couldn't let Joey come to DC without seeing our museum! (3rd pic)

Throughout the past decade, I have gone home (visited the museum) regularly. In between chemo rounds (when I had energy), I would eat in the Cafe, chat with the visitors, and walk through the galleries offering insight into our history. 🫶🏿

Then, in between surgeries (9 total), I would eat in the Cafe, grade papers, ask visitors if they had questions, and I've even sold a book or 2. 🔗 in bio

Like I said, the Blacksonian is special to me. I always say, this is our home! I have monitored horseplay (before the announcement), paid for meals for students who didnt bring enough money, and helped visitors navigate the 6-level deep, 4-floor high, copper masterpiece. I definitely could work there!! 🤭🙏🏾

ENJOY MY REFLECTION INTO THE OPENING OF THE BLACKSONIAN 💜 #nmaahc10 #10YrSurvivor 💪🏾 #GodsGotJokes
I will share more later.
