Last post I covered costumes with #spacedive313 looks, now let’s talk Space Dive Labor.

When I say Labor, it’s really a #laboroflove touching many aspects both large and small. Space Dive is much more than a space that we build, it’s coordination, sketches, artwork, writing, meetings and more meetings; squeezing in all the moments of free time I’ve had since the beginning of 2025.

From guesting on #podcasts like @thankthemakerpod @off.the.rack.rebellion @starwarsstuffpod to chat about all things great when it was too cold out to build.

Working on costume pieces for myself as well as other crew members. Doing costume reviews and checks for nearly 200 people we have on staff with @rob_ragnarok

Hosting offsite build workshops for space crates and lighting for the entire marketplace for a years worth of thrifting items to make the lamps unique and memorable.

Painting strange props like the mining droids that battle. Weathering items for space to be in a lived in universe. Making greeblies for both trade and props and don’t forget the blasters too!

Designing unique coinage for the immersion team and the prize at the end of the road.

And then there’s the back breaking labor of just getting truck loads of stuff unloaded and packed back up again.

Was it worth it? Yes! It worth it to see people’s faces light up when they feel like they’ve been transported into a world that is familiar yet so very far, far away.
