MATTHEW 11:28-30

“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’”

The Lord has done more for my life than I could ever imagine. Ever since coming to Baylor, he has molded me into a person that would be unrecognizable just a few years ago. He has taught me patience, peace, & a love that is overwhelming. He has shown me that I belong in His kingdom — not one based on works, but one grounded in faith for what he has done for all of us. Every one of you is redeemed by his blood on the cross & there is nothing you can do or say that will exempt you from this love.

I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received since getting baptized. When I opened my phone for the first time that same night I started to tear up about the sheer number of people who care & would put in the time to even send the smallest message. I’m grateful for every single one of you. Truly. I’m getting emotional even writing this out, because I didn’t even do anything. I’m just making a proclamation of an event that took place 2007 years ago. Jesus did all of the work so we don’t have to.

He alone is my refuge.
He is where I find my peace.
His yoke is easy.
His burden is light.
