I haven’t posted on IG in a long time, but I’ll give up a square for my brother Masimba Kadzirange, a once in a lifetime kind of human being.
The city lost a giant when he passed.
I miss my brother.
The man’s music knowledge was incredible and his Simpsons knowledge was top tier. Every one he touched knew they were encountering someone special. He threw a Birthday Jam every December called The Coolout. I’ve hosted a couple of them and I’ll be touching the mic again for this one, along with some other greats in the city. So in honour of what would have been his 55th year, we are celebrating on Sunday December 14th with some of the city’s best selectors. Its a free event.

If you knew Sims, heard him play, ate with him, vibed with him, talked music, life or The Simpsons with him, we would love to see you come out and help us honour the legend and celebrate our brother. If you didn’t know him, come and see what The Coolout is all about.

Check the @celebrating_son_of_soul page for the Eventbrite link with all of the party info.

In the words of my brother @oveous THIS IS FOR LEGACY..
30 years ago this past Saturday Sept 27 1995, our record Memories Of The Soulshack Survivors came out .
I was part of a trio called Bass is Base with @rogermooking & @ivanasantilli .
This is a post of pure gratitude. I am lucky for that journey & for all the joy it gave people. Til this day those songs get played on the radio, til this day no matter where I am I get stopped by random people, who thank me/us for the memories the music gave them . You just can’t put a price on that . It’s just proof, that creating from pure intentions leads to goodness . The only magic in all this is the art that’s where the God (love) energy resides. A lot of things have changed but that still remains . So once again thank you for listening & for supporting it was a wonderful way to start this journey that I’m still on .

Say Love

@royayerssunshine music for me always and forever will be where the magic lives. That intangible place between reality & harmonic impossibility. That was the feeling I got listening to him, without knowing who he was , in Toronto in the back room of a little club called @the.Cameron House when I was just a yute in University.

An English DJ named Malik X played Everybody Loves The Sunshine. Everything changed after that . He passed away March 4 2025 at 84 yrs.

Listen to the Evolution anthology. Your mind body and spirit will be transported.

I am thrilled to announce that on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after being extended twice for a total of eight months, an exciting fourth wall expansion of my solo Project T-Dot art exhibit was installed at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

The exhibit is available for free, without the need for a plane ticket, past the airport’s underground tunnel, in the airport terminal’s atrium, and it is open daily between 5:00 AM EST and 11:59 PM EST until Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

For those unfamiliar, Project T-Dot is a 19-year-long documentary initiative; the most comprehensive visual chronicle of Toronto’s hip-hop culture, community, and history, which I began producing in December 2006, and involves many more elements beyond art exhibits.

The exhibit continues to be the largest art installation ever presented at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, in addition to being the largest art exhibit on hip-hop culture in Canada currently.

Its expansion is presented by Nieuport Aviation and is proudly sponsored by Sony Music Entertainment Canada.

Through the expansion of the exhibit’s fourth wall, I am honoured to feature legendary, influential, and emerging individuals and organizations from Toronto’s vibrant hip-hop community.

These include OVO Sound, Vibe 105, 4KORNERS, DJX, Amber Morley (Deputy Mayor), Carey Riley (one of the exhibit’s producers via Sony Music Entertainment Canada), Craig "Big C" Mannix, Dan-e-o, Dream Warriors, Hassan Phills, John Bronski, Ken Masters, Manifest, Michael Williams, Patrick Nichols, Jester, Randall “R.T.” Thorne, Ricochet, Roy Woods, Russell Peters, and Sadboi.

The exhibit features well over one hundred individuals and numerous organizations, making it the most comprehensive showcase of Toronto’s hip-hop scene to date.

It also includes a growing public digital database, presented on a 55-inch touchscreen, the first and largest of its kind.

Upcoming additions include Deborah Cox, Gizmo, Ivan Evidente, Junia-T, Marcia Deacon, Mauricio Ruiz, Nam Kiwanuka, Smiley, Snowd4y, and Will Strickland, among many others.

Thank you to all sponsors and supporters, and more info is available via the link in my bio. #toronto #projecttdot
