58 Years ago today…

@tommiesmith68 and @johncarlos1968 raised their fists on the Olympic medal stand in peaceful protest for humanity and the rights and equality of Black people.

They were vilified, kicked out of the Olympic village and sent home… they faced death threats and had trouble finding employment after.

The whitelash was harsh and their personal lives suffered for the stance they took for Black people and All of humanity.

I have been blessed to be able to meet, work with, and now call them both my friend.

They both walked in the @activelyblack NYFW show and Im still not over that moment.

Thank you Dr. Smith and Dr. Carlos for everything you sacrificed that made it possible for me to even create a brand like @activelyblack
