On behalf of the entire SEEDS team, thank you for making our Leading Change Benefit such an unforgettable evening. From our inspiring alumni panel and powerful honoree speeches, to the energy of over 200 SEEDS champions filling the room, you made it a night to remember. We’re grateful for @miguelmd13, SP ’12, @kypatino, YSP '18, and Bryan Alexis, CSP ’22, and their lively alumni panel. We honored Donald M. Austin, former SEEDS Board Member and Head of School at @newarkacademy, and enjoyed a surprise introduction from his former student, Ruqaiyyah Lucas-Caldwell, YSP ’13, Newark Academy and UPenn Alumna. We were inspired by honoree @calmillien, SP ’08 and Senior Brand Manager at @therobotco, and relished the heartfelt introduction by his sister, @yvesnosl, SP ’14, Kent Place and American University Alumna. @jtowersperkins roused the room in the paddle raise, and we raised over $825,000 throughout the benefit to power SEEDS' mission and support our scholars. Our work continues. As Vanessa Brown, mother of @eduardov_11, CSP '18, said, “the solution to the world’s biggest problems might be trapped inside the mind of those students waiting for an opportunity.” There are more talented students waiting for an opportunity that SEEDS can provide. We appreciate any members of our SEEDS community who did not have a chance to donate before the Benefit and are still interested in doing so.
