After an incredible and successful run in the West End & on tour we have done our final performance of @mockingbirdplayuk. A year of high impact shows and standing ovations. So many friends and family have got to see this including teachers and friends from drama school.
I am incredibly grateful for every moment. I feel privileged to have been part of this amazing company & sharing this story.
I wish everyone all the best and am proud of every person involved. I think we told the story with integrity and focus – and had fun at the same time.

Grateful.

A powerful and thought-provoking evening at Wyndham’s Theatre.

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those plays that raises questions that never really become outdated: what does justice actually mean? How much does prejudice shape the way we see other people? And how do we teach the next generation to distinguish between what is right and what is simply accepted by everyone around them?

What impressed me most was the acting. There are no performances that feel exaggerated or forced; so much is conveyed through small gestures, pauses, looks and changes in tone. There are nuances everywhere, and they make the characters feel much more human.

Richard Coyle is superb as Atticus Finch. His performance is incredibly controlled and understated, but that makes the emotional moments all the more powerful. He doesn’t need to overplay anything to command the stage.

The production is also emotionally strong without constantly trying to manipulate the audience into feeling something. Some moments are genuinely moving precisely because they are allowed to speak for themselves.

I also really liked the way the story balances the larger themes with the very personal perspective of the characters. It’s not simply a play about racism or the justice system; it’s also about empathy, morality, growing up and trying to understand a world that isn’t always fair.

A great production with superb acting, plenty of nuance and a lot to think about long after the curtain falls.

A selection of photos of some of our exceptional cast and crew, all dressed to impress-night. ✨

After nine months of taking this landmark production around the country, it feels incredibly special to open @mockingbirdplayuk in the beautiful Wyndham’s Theatre. It takes a particular kind of grit, good humour and a love of the craft to be a travelling player, so it feels like a real moment to finally bring this finely tuned production to West End audiences. 💫

Feeling very lucky to be part of this company and to share the journey with such a wonderful group of people. ❤️

Special thanks to @creative_simon for always being in my corner, and to my wonderful friend @damien.tracey for celebrating with us—and for the cheeky press night footage. Unofficial correspondent duties: nailed! 🎥
