Yea Gidday @capital.fishing how ya goin? 🦑

Felix just put up a beauty Daiwa BG8000 with a 15kg drag, and a couple of half price Gomakatsu hooks.
That’s a handy wee pick up that!

A few tidy rods and reels have just landed on SQID from tackle shops and sellers around the country 🇳🇿

Some new, some clearance, some just bloody good bits of gear looking for the right home.

The idea’s pretty simple, make it easier to find decent fishing gear without having to trawl through twenty different websites or drive halfway across town.

Support local sellers. Find good gear. Go fishing.

That’ll do.

The plan was to get Jnr onto an XL Kingfish!

This one clearly wanted to test him! 🎣🔥
Rod bent, arms burning and his new PB on the deck!

Love it when a plan comes off 👊🏻

Tucked away in the hills just outside New Plymouth, Cabin Hill is the kind of off-grid escape that makes slowing down feel effortless.

Perched high above the landscape, the little cabin comes with a view in every direction. The Pouakai Ranges rise behind, Taranaki Maunga sits quietly in the distance, and beyond the hills, the Tasman Sea stretches towards the Kaitake Ranges.

Inside, life is simple.

A cosy bedroom, a little loft tucked above for a child, and a fully enclosed sunroom that becomes the heart of the cabin, a place to sit with a coffee, open the glass doors and let the landscape in.

Outside, the experience continues.

Follow the side deck to the BBQ, rinse off beneath the hot outdoor shower, or settle into the stainless steel wood-fired hot tub as the evening rolls in.

Mountain views behind you. Ocean in front. Nothing but regenerating native bush and open skies in between.

Just 25 minutes from New Plymouth, but a world away from the everyday.

Cabin Hill is a reminder that you don’t need to go far to properly get away.

We all don't to do it don't we?

Put our phone on plane mode and disappear for 24 hours?

Fiordland is THE destination to switch off from the noise and invest in a bit of YOU time.
