💭Some of you asked me in DM’s what means my native name, how did I get it and from who.
I’m deeply honored and grateful because I got this name from my 👣Blackfoot👣 elder @johnnyarnoux whose tribe adopted me. He’s one of my closest people in my life. 🙏🏼

🗣️To explain, my name K̳h̳a̳k̳i̳m̳a̳t̳ m̳e̳a̳n̳s̳ “S̳t̳r̳o̳n̳g̳ o̳n̳e̳” it’s a version made from original word “Ihkakimat” - “Stay strong”

🪶In Native American and Indigenous cultures, obtaining a native name is a deeply sacred, spiritual milestone. Rather than just a moniker, it is a living entity that reflects an individual’s true essence, soul purpose, life path, or a significant spiritual experience.

💫Spiritual Awakening: Names are typically gifted pnly by a spiritual leader, elder, or medicine person who fasts, prays, and meditates to seek guidance from the Creator, ancestors, or animal spirits.

☀️Life Milestones: A name is often received during a rite of passage, such as a naming ceremony, a vision quest, or after surviving a major life challenge.

✨Dynamic Identity: Unlike Western names, a native name can change as a person grows, evolves, or achieves new things in life. Some individuals may hold multiple names throughout their lifetime.

🌿Connection to the Natural World: Names frequently incorporate elements of nature (animals, weather, plants) or reflect specific virtues, talents, and spiritual protection.

🙏🏼Responsibility: Carrying a native name comes with the cultural duty to live up to the qualities, traits, and honor it represents.

🙏🏼Dedicated to the elder @johnnyarnoux 🪶🌿of the Blackfoot nation, the tribe that adopted me. ♡
It’s an honor and blessing to have you as one of my dear friends, you are like a father to me, and the only spiritual guide, Johnny✨

To sit beside an elder of the Blackfoot people is to sit beside a living river of memory, one that carries stories older than sorrow and wisdom deeper than the earth itself. It is not a small thing—it is a blessing that humbles the heart.

In his presence, the world grows quieter, as if even the wind pauses to listen. His words are not many, yet each one carries weight, shaped by years, by loss, by survival, and by a sacred understanding of the land and spirit. To be guided by him is to be gently reminded of who you are beneath the noise of the world.

There is honor in being trusted by such a man. Honor in being seen, accepted, and taught without force. He does not lead by command, but by example—through patience, stillness, and the quiet strength of a life lived with meaning.
I am grateful beyond measure to call him a friend. Grateful for the moments of silence we share, for the firelight reflecting in his eyes, for the prayers spoken without words.

Grateful for the way he teaches me to listen—to the earth, to my own spirit, and to the unseen threads that bind us all.
To walk even a small part of my path with a Blackfoot elder beside me is a gift I will carry with reverence all my life.

I finally got around to checking out Train Dreams after hearing alot of good things about this film and I agree it definitely deserves the praise it gets. I can't believe I've slept on this film for almost half a year!

I had no idea what I was in for, and honestly, it blew me away. It's such a beautiful film, but also heartbreaking at the same time capturing love, loss, grief and survival.

Joel Edgerton is phenomenal as Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who lives his years in the forests and working on the land while dealing with grief and isolation after losing his family in a forest fire. This has to be one of his best performances yet and he deserves alot of credit for his role.

Felicity Jones was really good as Roberts wife and it was also great to see William H. Macy who was perfect in his role. The cast were also equally good aswell.

This film may not be for everyone as it is a slow burner, but it has a story that flows naturally without being forced. The cinematography is stunning, the soundtrack is beautiful and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous. It's been a while since I've seen a tearjerker that hit me in the feels and made me tear up because it reminded me to always cherish every moment and every person who you love and care about in your life because you never know when will be the last time you see someone.

Overall, I thought Train dreams was beautiful, moving and thoughful film that has many merits, great story and a cast that delivers excellent and emotional performances. I highly recommend this film especially for those who enjoy a slow-burn and medative drama.

More 90s kid shenanigans: Wolves of the Cradle wrapped on principal photography but not without the director letting me "sign" the stunt car with my ol' .357 and having the honors of detonating the final scene's remote mines.

The three months of wet, cold and late nights won't be missed but many of the cast and crew will, especially my co-stars, the "trauma bond girls." 👨‍💼🍸
