1st generation Mexican American and Queer. Being the first in my family to get a degree breaking a glass ceiling for us all. I used to live in a world of possibilities but I just turned that into reality. When I walked across that stage I carried my family with me. My Mother and Fathers dreams of something more for us. My two sisters who poured so much into me when I had nothing and no dreams for myself. My fiancé and his amazing family. My best friends, and every classmate and coworker who celebrated every win and loss with me along the way. This is just the beginning and I cannot wait for what is in store for me. You can be however old and accomplish anything you want.

Long before Haus of Cherry 🍒, my siblings graciously tolerated being cast in whatever homemade movie or music video we dreamed up that week.

Armed with a camcorder—and occasionally hogging the remote to neurotically pause, rewind, and give mini dissertations on Baz Luhrmann—we spent our childhood turning bedrooms into movie sets and unknowingly creating lifelong collaborators.

Decades later, we’re still doing it. After countless craft store runs, sewing projects, shot lists, and very VERY little sleep, we ushered Cherry’s own little fever dream: SYNS (“Sorry You’re Not Sorry”)

We built this on no budget, no time, endless favors & support, and an unreasonable amount of rhinestones and sissie antics.

Never stop playing dress-up and playing make-believe with your friends, family, and loved ones. May we all be a little less sorry and a little more ourselves. 🍒🪩

Recently, I styled a wig inspired by Alternate-Universe Powder from Arcane for a dance performance.

Because it was designed to be viewed from a distance and needed to withstand samba choreography, lifts, and plenty of movement, this wig isn’t intended to be a 1:1 cosplay replica.

A big thank you to @dbano and @johnnydoesitbestt for showing me the ropes of wig styling. Taking your workshop gave me the confidence to tackle my first solo wig project!
