As the World Caves In.

This is a song that I chose to answer an essay on my Princeton application as the tone of the song represented the tumultuous time of college applications and balancing academic and extracurricular pressure. Ironically, this song continued to apply to me all throughout the arc of Princeton. Going through this institution, it is hard to realize all that you have accomplished among the continuous, never-ending stress, and I felt as if my world was caving in on numerous occasions. But, now at the finish line looking back, I guess I did accomplish a lot.

I performed a solo concerto with the orchestra in front of hundreds of people. I found something potentially “new” in my field for my thesis. I was able to travel to over 5 different countries. I went to nationals for both volleyball and powerlifting. And most importantly, I met insane friends that I will be close with forever.

I remember around 5th grade I had a teacher tell me that I’m not actually smart nor a strong worker, that all my own work is just a product of my mother. Well, I just completed one of the hardest phases of my life and graduated from the #1 school in the country, Princeton University, and excelled at it. Moving forward, I will be attending the University of Cambridge in England to earn an MPhil in NeuroAI and Intelligent Systems for a year.

At this point, my world is no longer caving in, but expanding. I have no clue where I will find myself in a few years, but I can’t wait to see what my continuously-moving life brings for me. Despite the ups and downs, I cannot thank Princeton enough for my development over the past 4 years.

What is the meaning of life?

In a universe so vast and so full of stars beyond our reach, it can be easy to feel small. To wonder if our hopes, dreams, and experiences truly matter in the grand scheme of things.

But still…
We dream.
We reach.
We hope.

This nebula was born from collapse.
And yet, it shines. It reminds us that even in ruin, something meaningful can rise again.

NOVALORD is a story about finding the light.
About creating meaning in the void.
About pursuing hope even when it feels like none remains.

Right now, we’re working on an animated pilot episode for NOVALORD. We’ll be posting every step of the way.
