Only @amberdenaeball and @j_mo1993 could pull off a Black Tie/Western/Mardi Gras themed wedding shin dig. Such a great time at The Last Ball with two of the sweetest people I know. Congratulations and thanks for a fun night, y’all. ❤️🤵‍♂️👰‍♀️

Our office showered our AmeriCorps team with some love at lunch today. AmeriCorps is like the Peace Corps but… In America. It pairs volunteers to serve directly with nonprofit organizations and NGO’s like @sbpusa to tackle our nation’s most pressing challenges. In our case; Rebuilding Southwest Louisiana.
Thank you Sarah, Karesha, and Pauline!

Went out way too fast, and had an ugly wake up call about this burger tour I’ve been on, but I still had SO MUCH fun with the TX fram at the 30th Annual BakerRipley #HouTurkeyTrot 10k. New tradition for sure. 🦃🦃🦃

For 115 years Baker Ripley has worked to strengthen community engagement, improve financial well-being, and increase educational attainment to create more vibrant neighborhoods and communities in SETX. Causes that are my absolute jams. Proud to support them and their efforts.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Popped by Lake Charles newest art installation when I left the office today and bumped in to the artist himself!
@jeremypriceart @paigevidrine I love it! So cool.
Between Bilbo and Hodges downtown. Go see it and get a Poboy at Buffi’s.

This week Matthew Wheeler and I got to circle up with the legend of local food systems in Louisiana, Bahia Nightengale.
We talked about:
-Resources for a cooperative development and alternative funding streams for local ownership of grocery stores in North Lake Charles.
-How to equip area farmers markets with the ability to accept SNAP.
-Connecting socially disadvantaged food producers and growers with statewide resources and funding.
-Alternative transport to area farmers market (market busses!).
More things to come, but I'm excited about this powerful conversation that already gave us many tools to better secure and insulate our local food systems, and put a big dent in food insecurity in Southwest Louisiana.

I’m bummed I’m not toeing the start line with him this time, but I’m so excited to be here to watch my BFF @michaelkrajicek dominate Ironman Texas today!

Gonna be a beautiful day for a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run. Get some, bro.
