So without further adieu, this is my wonderful friend @johnogi's rare and magnificent Jaguar XJR-15 TWR.

A total of 53 Jaguar XJR-15s were produced between 1990 and 1992. Of these, 18 were built to racing specifications, and 35 were configured as road cars. - AI overview.

Ferrari's and friends...

This is my good friend @johnogi's stunning Ferrari Dino 246 GT finished in Silver over a blue leather interior.

It's got to be said, this car is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. It's surprisingly luxurious in the sense of it being spacious and comfortable inside.

Yet what a ride, too, with that famed V6.

Here's to Alfredo (Dino) Ferrari.

There were some interesting FIAT cars seen during my brief visit to the Auto Italia Magazine Italian Car Day at Brooklands on Saturday. The line of seven 1930’s FIAT 508 Balillas was a wonderful sight.

It was great to see friends and their lovely cars at the first @the96club Rendezvous of 2023 in Chesham Place this morning. It was the Spider Duetto’s first attendance for eight years, almost to the day.

This is a 1991 JaguarSport XJR-15 (026). The JaguarSport XJR-15 was developed by Scottish racing driver Tom Walkinshaw, founder of Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR). His relationship with Jaguar rose after success racing a Jaguar XJ-S in the 1982 European Touring Car Championship. By 1988, the TWR-designed Jaguar XJR-9 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With demand growing for a racing road car, TWR and Jaguar Cars Limited formed JaguarSport in the late 1980s to develop the XJR-15 and XJ220. Initially dubbed ‘XJR-14’, ‘R9-R’, or ‘S3’ internally, the Peter Stevens-designed XJR-15 was mechanically based on the running gear of the the Tony Southgate-designed, ahead-of-it’s-time, Le Mans-winning XJR-9LM. Stevens began with the ex-Win Percy XJR-8 tub, building a Le Mans-style road car per Walkinshaw’s request. Stevens later revised the carbon monocoque for road use, while Jim Router and David Fullerton tuned the chassis. Carbon fiber work was done by Astec Composites and Dove. Andy Morrison served as project manager, with Charlie Bamber and Martin Smith developing the engine under Allan Scott. It was also built to race in the 1991 Jaguar Sport Intercontinental Challenge—held at Monaco, Silverstone, and Spa—with 16 cars entered and two spares prepared. In total, 50 XJR-15s were made, including race cars, LM versions, road cars, and 2 R9R prototypes, each with unique differences. This is 1 of 2 non-LM examples believed to have been finished in factory green. This car is underwater today after having sank on a ship during transport.

Oh come on, what else was going to come in first place? It’s a bit cheaty, but my favourite car I saw over the past year is the JaguarSport XJR-15.

One of the good bits of 2021 was finally seeing these V12 beasts starting to get the recognition that they deserve, 30 years on from their fifteen minutes of fame in the Intercontinental Challenge race series.

The highest motoring-related highs for me this year all involved these cars. I thought I’d peaked in the summer seeing three race cars, a road car and R9-R at Silverstone, only for that to be well and truly trumped at the Goodwood Member’s Meeting.

Despite seeing huge amounts of cars at once, my single favourite day of the year involved Donington Park Circuit, XJR-15 chassis 048 and a small group of brilliant people. Not a day I’m going to forget in a hurry. Huge thanks once again to @joshclassics and @nealgordonltd for being so welcoming.

Hard to see how this year can improve on these moments, but let’s wait and see :)

As 2021's time comes to a close, we can look back at a some or our meets from this year beginning with last Spring and ending with our last Rendezvous at the start of this month. (Alongside two members cars from photoshoots) It's been a wonderful year for us to bring our members and guests together with a selection of magnificent cars.
