John Prine Night was one for the books. French Co. Grocer was full of good songs, plenty of laughter, delicious burgers, and the kind of wonderful company that makes Marathon what it is. The 7th annual tribute was a success, and we’re grateful for another year of celebrating John Prine the way he deserves—with music, stories, and a room full of people who get it.

And we’re not putting the music away just yet. There’s more live music around town this week, so take a look at the schedule below and find yourself a spot in the crowd. 🎶

Mark your calendars- One month from today, we’ll once again gather at The French Grocer to celebrate the life, words, and wonderfully weird spirit of John Prine 🌟

John Prine Night is the kind of evening that feels a little like a family reunion and a little like a very strange talent show—good songs, questionable outfits, plenty of laughter, and a whole lot of love for the man who taught us that the best stories can be both heartbreaking and hilarious.

Consider this your one-month warning. October 10th. Come sing a little, laugh a lot, and don’t forget your blue umbrella

John Prine has always been the North Star for every folk singer who loves a good story.
“Jesus, The Missing Years” is one of those brilliant Prine ballads that mixes humor, heart, and honesty like nobody else could.
Here’s a little piece of me playing it — for the Prine fans, the folk storytellers, and anyone who believes a great song can change your whole day. ❤️🎸

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 Ｍａｒａｔｈｏｎ:

If you’re still humming John Prine songs and smelling burgers in your dreams, you’re not alone. Saturday’s tribute night was one for the books — full of good tunes, cold drinks, and that rare kind of joy you wish you could bottle.

This week, we’re keeping it simple and slow. As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we take a moment to honor the original stewards of this land and the deep history that runs through it. Then, it’s back to the rhythm of small-town life — burger night, Sunday Funday, and soaking in the quiet beauty of fall in Marathon.

Fun project I got to do for my friends at the French Co. Grocer for their annual John Prine Tribute Show. Come on out to downtown Marathon October 11 and sing along to songs that salve the soul.
