179 years ago tonight, Isaac Mason broke the chains of enslavement (in the building which is now our Raimond Cultural Center) and fled to freedom! Coincidently Dec 26 also begins the celebration of Kwanzaa.

So, to our team of amazing creatives who told Isaac Mason’s story, as seen through @marlonsaunders eyes, (as pictured during our Kennedy Center residency in 2023) we say Peace and Thank You for bringing this story to the world.

Happy Kwanzaa.

Do you think I can scale this paper boat I made during my artist residency in Chestertown, MD to a size I can paddle the Chester river?
