Here’s a little slice of the endless fun we had last week during our One-on-Ones rehearsal retreat in Rumson, NJ ☀️🎭

We played, we worked, and at the end we shared our original plays for the first time with the incredible community who helped us get our show on the road ❤️

Now it’s time to perform in our very own stage at The Five Angels Theater 😎🏙️ LOOK WHO’S TALKING, Plays That Speak To You, is happening THIS weekend August 16th-18th !! 🫶

And just like that, we are back in Hell’s Kitchen after an unforgettable week in Rumson NJ, where we spent our days preparing our One-on-One plays!🎭🚀🏖️

The Project members and their adult volunteers learned and rehearsed the plays written just for them, which were shared to the public for the very first time right there for the Rumson community!(who we now proudly call our friends ❤️). We sang, we ate, we ran and splashed around. But most importantly, we were able to create bonds and share our successes with each other. THAT’S what The Project is all about! 😉

Clearly, it takes a village to make a show like this possible. Sending a million warm thank-yous to @ccushman1 for sharing her beautiful home with us, where our imaginations were able to run wild. And another million thanks to the rest of our friends in Rumson, who supported us in ALL the ways.

Come see what the fuss is about this weekend (July 21-23) in ON THE MOVE: Plays That Will Transport You! ✈️🚗🚋🛴⛵️Check out our bio 👆and don’t forget to tell your friends! 😎

Happy happy happy birthdays (one day apart) to the phenomenal, irreplaceable, and truly cherished George and John!🎈🥳🎈It’s impossible to name every single thing they do at the 52nd Street Project, or in general, they’re kind of Renaissance men 🤷‍♀️.

Ask anyone what their favorite Project memory is and you’re guaranteed to hear “John’s cooking!” or “Riding bikes with George!”. The positive impact they’ve had on our community through the years is a big part of why we are who we are!❤️❤️❤️

From props, to podcasts, to playbills, and pudding, you’re sure to find their work anywhere you look, even playing on our stage! 🎭Come watch them in action next weekend, July 21-23rd, during our One-on-Ones performances of ON THE MOVE: Plays That Will Transport You! 🚗🚀✈️Get your FREE tickets in our bio👆#SeeYouThere 😉

Enjoying some perfect summer days in lovely Rumson NJ during our first One-on-Ones trip in FOUR YEARS!🌞To say that we’re enjoying ourselves would be an understatement. We have spent the days playing, swimming, eating delicious food(thanks, John), meditating(thanks, Caylyn), singing(thanks, Avi), and even doing a little rehearsing here and there😁😎🏖️

Our One-on-Ones program brings together one young person with a professional actor to perform a play written just for them. This time around, our duos found inspiration in modes of transportation! From spaceships to scooters to freight trains- walk, run, or fly to our bio 👆and reserve your FREE tickets for ON THE MOVE: Plays That Will Transport You! Playing July 21-23! 🚗🛴🚀

Fabulous Friday Funday activity: Cooking With John! 🎉😁In the spirit of Cinco De Mayo, some of our members are learning how to make tacos! John is widely known as our in-house chef, and the meals he makes for almost every human who walks through our doors are regarded as one of BEST parts of being at the Project. What a reputation! We are very lucky to have a full kitchen right here in our clubhouse, nothing brings people together like making and enjoying a meal 🧑‍🍳🍳🌮

John Sheehy is so fulfilled by his work because of all the hats he gets to wear at The 52nd Street Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and production of new plays often for and by kids between the ages of nine and 18 that reside in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in New York City. What unexpected things to you get to try at work? Episode is available on @spotifypodcasts @applepodcasts @googlepodcasts and more.

Is it #WayBackWednesday? Kind of! 📸

These pictures, vintage-looking as they may be, are from our latest playmaking trip to Bridgehampton! They may remind you of the timeless film portraits we have adorning the walls of the clubhouse and theater floor(that’s what we were going for, anyway!)😉

After our stellar, sold out performances this past weekend, these young playwrights are OFFICIALLY members of The 52nd Street Project!!! Now that’s something to celebrate 🎉

We are so grateful to every single person who helped make yet another wonderful playmaking show happen. Memories like these are priceless and made even better when we have such a great community to share them with.

Come join us at our next performance: FLYING SOLO, original spoken word pieces by Project members, April 21st at 7:30 PM. Reserve your FREE tickets on the link in our bio👆📝

Thank you so much to @alvassi for letting us stay in her beautiful home and being a fantastic host as always!❤️
