Do the weird idea

I’m still taken aback by the response to “Doubt Comes In”. I never thought the “weird idea” would resonate with so many people. Thank you to everyone in this number for bringing not only your artistry but your true self to this. Without that kind of expression art looses so much. We proved that tap can tell a story just as much as any other style and sometimes does it more effectively.

Huge shout out to @kathryn__mayer for not only being incredible in the number but for helping me to set the piece, especially her work with the Fates and Eurydice. This number would simply not be the same without your ability to bring storytelling into your incredible dance vocabulary.

Another thank you to @blackboxmovers for facilitating this showcase and saying yes to the “weird idea”. It would have been so easy to play it safe the first showcase and ask for a straight forward tap number. You trusted me and I can’t thank you enough for that. As well as @brianssarak for her mentorship in this process. Your attention to story telling and understanding of tap really helped bring the perspective we needed to pull everything together.
