We’re baaaack! We took a lil break and now we’re returning with another Vaya Con Discos baile y benefit…number 13 🐈‍⬛

This month we’ll be fundraising and uplifting the important work Portland Books Through Bars is doing. @pdx.books is a volunteer-powered, donation-funded non profit working to make books and education accessible to people who are incarcerated. Volunteers read book requests, match readers with books that interest them, and mail reading materials free of charge. By expanding access to knowledge, imagination, and self-education, they champion educational equity, dignity, and the transformative power of reading.

Let’s help them meet some of their goals during Prison Banned Books Week! 📚📚📚

As always, Vaya Con Discos is free and for everyone. Come through dancing and help us raise funds for this collective and community-driven work.

It’s been two weeks since Circle V 2026, and we’re still riding the high from this delicious and vibrant celebration. None of it would have been possible without our wonderful community. Thank you for making magic happen!

DJ Honest John is a Portland-based music curator with roots in Miami and Caracas who brings the heat wherever his needle drops. His sets weave together funky disco, bouncy boogie, and world grooves to keep dance floors vibrating. A vinyl devotee with an ear for the unexpected, John has hosted Savage Beat on XRAY FM since 2015 and holds down regular spots at Portland staples including Gold Dust Meridian, Daydream, and Pickathon.

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us at @tope_pdx to kick off the Tope x Veganizer collab! The fun continues for the rest of July. ☀️🍹🌮🌴

The star of the show was the tostada featuring incredible depth of flavor thanks to the combo of smoked eggplant puree, wild mushrooms, charred pole beans, pickled seaweed, and seaweed salsa macha. Chef Adán Fausto @mrpicklestastygoodness has several other vegan dishes on the menu too: falafel taco, tostilocos veganos, salsa roja and guacamole with chips, little gem salad (made vegan), and passionfruit arroz con leche.

It was the perfect summer evening with refreshing craft concoctions, like the prickly blossom G&T and tepache fermented pineapple drink, and fun vibes by DJ Honest John @johnvincentlovell.

If you missed the party, drop by Tope anytime in July for the Veganizer tostada. Tope is open daily starting at 4pm on the rooftop of @thehoxtonhotel located at 15 NW 4th Ave in Downtown Portland.
