3 years to the day of principal photography I figure it’s time to share what we did. Leo las Olas is a film Emilio trusted me to shoot in and around Asia’s family’s home in Mendocino but more than anything gave me memories I will never forget. Made possible by the most talented group of people I’ve ever known. Whenever I’m having a bad day I look at the BTS album from this shoot and say damn, this is what I do it for. I’m proud of what we did but it’s good to remember sometimes it’s about the journey just as much as the final product 🫶🏼 All the love forever and always to this team, this was a tough one but truly I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed harder ❤️ Written & Directed by @emiliosubia Starring @johnzhinin @izzyraye_ & Alex MacNicoll Executive Produced by @daeunkimx @mossparknyc Produced by @peetvstaden kirkmorrisjr Co produced by @asiargordon @emiliosubia @ortetmas @mikewintersjr Cinematography by 🫶🏼 Production design by @mia___baudey Edited by @emiliosubia @adrian_kader & will mayo Sound design & mix @ma.tuk Music by @francoisdeville Color by @shmowells 1st AD @canfishdrink 1st AC @peterharrison75 2nd AC @lilymars__ Gaffer @jonasbishophayes Key Grip @connor_bewighouse Set Dresser @willapisarski Production Sound @eanherrera Key PA @mikewintersjr Special thx @arri_rental

I’m proud to announce that my first narrative short film, #ITurnGrillsOn @itgo.film is having its #uspremiere this evening in Texas, the Grill Capital of the World, at @wearediffdallas ! It is part of the festival’s Oscar-qualifying shorts competition, among many other incredible short films which have honest-to-goodness knocked my socks off. 😍 This is a film about how grief queers 🌊 , radically reshaping who we are and how we exist in the world ✨. And how new beginnings can always be just around the corner. I am immensely grateful to the countless people who believed in this project and made it possible, many of whom cannot be listed here. Starring #MarcelineHugot as Ruth and @debonisdebonis as Didi. Here are just a few of the collaborators who brought this story to life. Another one came out during my social media black out - it had a screening at @bogoshorts end of last year. I had just moved to the US in 2023 when I met @emiliosubia and he told me about this idea he has been working on and it grasped me from the get go. 4 months later we were up in Northern California with a bunch of incredibly talented people making a short . A project that pushed me to grow in so many ways as a producer - and eternally grateful for @kirkmorrisjr and his negotiation skills (I learnt a lot ) - and ultimately made it possible to make the film for half the budget than what it should have been made for. And for the team at good behavior in believing in us as well (@jynohyphen @stephanieycheng and Linhao) And a post like this is never complete without listing out the incredible people that truly made it happen : With @johnzhinin @alex_macnicoll @izzyraye_ and Jerzey Writer/Director: @emiliosubia Producers: @peetvstaden @kirkmorrisjr Co-Producers: @ortetmas @asiargordon @mikewintersjr @emiliosubia Executive Producer: @daeunkimx Production Companies: @mecaaanico @mossparknyc GoodBehavior Prod. A few blurry photos from our fundraiser could never capture how grateful we are for everyone who helped make this event happen last week! Thanks so much to our beautiful performers (some of whom are pictured, and others you can find on our page), those who contributed items to our raffle, and all of our lovely attendees — and a huge bonus shoutout to our AMAZING stage manager Megan! Despite technical difficulties, we still had a lovely evening in Riverside Park 🍽️
