For the past 4 years I’ve watched how political sentiment impacts investment in anything meant to serve diverse communities. The fact that it’s happening at the same time as there is a hyperfocus on AI should ring alarms for you.

Why wouldn’t they want us at the table to contribute to the design and deployment of technology that scales so broadly?

How does the widespread adoption of a technology not warrant a more diverse representation of people involved in the creation process?

Why just the intense narrative about being consumers and end users or risk being left behind?

This is the quarter you win. It doesn't matter that a week has already gone by. It doesn't matter what happened earlier during the year. This quarter is yours if you want it to be.

Here is a preview of my Quarter You Win blueprint. It's a fillable workbook for you to work through your goals, reflect, and hit the ground running.

I know that this year has been hard for a lot of us, and I may be delusional, but I feel like we can turn this around.

Comment "WIN" for the link.

I’m the first call for so many women in my community and beyond. My brain basically runs on game theory so come plan the rest of your year with me.

I’ve always planned my life in quarters. I stole the habit from companies and treated myself like one long before I started Woven. Quarterly planning is what led me to start Woven. I was looking for events, courses and communities to join for the quarter. I never planned to start anything but saw the gap and took it a step at a time. 8 years later, no five year plan I ever drafted could have predicted this.

With the ground shifting beneath so many of us, I don’t want to plan Q4 alone this year. I need to be of service.

Over the last few months I’ve collected data on the mistakes I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned, and the wins too. I’m ready to apply all of it and end this year on a (high) note I can be proud of.

I know you want the same too so here’s the deets:
Thursday, October 1st, 7:00 to 9:00 PM ET, online

We review what happened this quarter and build your plan for the last three months of 2026. You do the work during the session, so you leave with a plan. You’ll have continued access to our group chat to hype each other up through Q4 and collaborate towards your goals.

See you Thursday?

Rooting for you always 🫶🏾

P.S If you’re between jobs right now or things are really tight, msg me and we’ll sort something out. I want to see you win.

I curate my events for DEPTH. Expert speakers (not self proclaimed), curious and engaged attendees, creative formats that encourage engagement and sponsors that do way more than send a wire transfer because they are building community too. When you’re building in a space where your audience is underrepresented (22% of data and AI professionals are women) your audience will be smaller. And that’s not proof of how successful the event is. Women get new jobs, learn how to build their businesses and grow their careers at my events. The impact is undeniable. What truly matters is the quality of your audience and how you curate an experience for them that keeps them coming back. Woven’s event season kicks off soon after our summer hiatus and I can’t wait to curate more events for my community. 🫶🏾

You probably don’t know my name. And honestly that is by design. I created the first conference in Canada for women in data and AI. Over 7000 women have attended our events and programs. I’ve hosted over 40 events with over 100 speakers over 8 years. Conferences, events, socials, awards, pitch competitions, coaching. Virtual or in person. I’ve done it. I’ve been in data and AI for over ten years. Next year is our 10th conference. I decided next year is going to be our biggest year yet, but I can’t do that if you don’t know my name. So hey I’m Kishawna👋🏾

What’s yours and what role in data and AI do you have?

i’m always optimizing for impact

I’m Kishawna, founder of Woven, a community for women in data and AI. I left corporate five years ago but I never left you. The way I work in this space changed but my eye never moved from what was changing for you.

Nine years of watching. Nine years of building in response to what I was seeing.

And right now is a lot.

A labor market reorganizing in real time. An AI wave reshaping how work gets done across every industry. A persistent gap between the women most equipped to shape these systems and the seats available to them at the table.

I watch all of it. I research it. And then I build in response to it.

That’s why our programs look the way they do. They weren’t built from a playbook. They were built around you.

You’ve always been the blueprint.

Last year, I launched a membership for women in data and AI. It flopped.

And not a joke flop. A big flop. Memberships were slow, and retention was month over month... it broke my heart a little because I was convinced it was exactly what my community needed.

I slowly sunset it. But one member stayed engaged...

She had been laid off. She enrolled in a master’s program because she felt like she needed to know more before she could get back into the job market. All of her goals were tied to finding a role.

When we did her full year planning for 2026, I asked her what if you added independent income streams? Consulting. Speaking. Workshops. She said okay, sure. But her main focus was still the job search. Funny enough, month after month, no job search tasks were done, but we listen and don’t judge.

By the end of Q1, she booked her first paid workshop. She came to me for help to negotiate the price. I said a number she wasn’t comfortable with. She went with $5,500 US. I knew she could’ve charged more.

Last month she told me the workshop feedback was excellent. While she was running the workshop, she realized how much she actually knows.

They’re already exploring other departments within the company for more workshops. And she said with her entire chest, that she should’ve charged more and will for the next one.

The good news did not stop there, she also booked her first keynote. ✨

She thought she needed to know more. More credentials. More experience. More LinkedIn followers.

She didn’t.

She needed structure and the confidence to charge what she’s worth.

I watched this video and instantly felt immensely proud.

You know how people describe body dysmorphia? Where you look in the mirror and can’t see yourself accurately? I have that about my work. I’ve been so close to it, so deep in the logistics and the outreach and the stage cues, that I genuinely couldn’t see how big this thing is.

This video fixed that.

Nine years. Six thousand women. And I finally looked at what I’ve been building and thought: this is my event? This is huge and looks like an amazing time.

Year 10 is next.✨

If you were at the Woven conference this year, you have access to reduced first bird pricing until May 31.

Everyone else, first bird runs until June 30 then early bird opens.

You do not want to miss Year 10. I raise the bar every year and 10 years is a milestone I never dreamed I’d hit.

Huge shoutout to our Diamond Sponsor Tech@RBC, and bronze sponsors Mistplay, CIFAR and O’Reilly. Your support means the world to me and contributes to the magic of our community.

Every one of these women is a mom. And without realizing it, they’ve mothered me too.

Reminding me to take breaks. To go on walks. Reminding me who I am and what I’ve built when I can’t see it myself. Helping me detach from the results when I’m too close to them. Speaking life into me on the days I need it most.

My team has been doing that for me for years.

Happy Mother’s Day to Jemila, Latoya, Shadéa, Kali, and my mom. 💕

And to every mom in the Woven community holding it together for everyone else Happy Mothers Day 🌸
