Whether you know her as the founder of @getmaude or for her enviable eye for interiors, @evagoicochea is forever our muse. In today’s #AnatomyOfANook, we step inside her home to explore her take on functional ’80s modernism—and the favorite corner she’s created along the way. “I take my time finding pieces I care about; until then, I choose what is useful rather than filling space for the sake of it.” Swipe through to step inside Eva’s world.

Je suis tellement plus qu'un corps (I Am So Much More Than a Body), 2022.

This painting presents a powerful fusion between the abstract and the figurative, standing out for its vibrant palette of red tones that dominates the composition. The work centers on a nude female figure, portrayed in black and white, creating a striking contrast.

The figure, posed enigmatically, is suggested rather than defined, creating an ambiguity that defies interpretation: its posture is not obvious, allowing for multiple readings, sometimes reflective, sometimes relaxed.

Among the complexity of shapes and abstract brushstrokes in shades of red, there is a subtle discovery that demands attention: a delicate pencil drawing of a female body seen from the back, lying down. This smaller figure, almost hidden between the layers of paint, acts as a secret within the composition, offering a new dimension to the work, where the real and the suggested intertwine. The "hidden detail" suggests a dialogue between the visible and the invisible, adding emotional depth to the painting and inviting contemplation.

Acrylic and pencil on canvas.

Some works take years to be fully understood, as does their purpose. ✨️

LIFE SERIES, created in 2018/2019, marked the beginning of my artistic practice and was the first body of work through which I began to understand painting as a way of processing life, emotions and transformation. A return to my former self.

I later archived it. Now, years later, I have brought it back because I recognize in these works the early foundations of the visual language I continue to develop today.

The beginning of everything.

Some works are no longer mine, while others are now available again through the link in my bio.

Nine interesting social apps you might not have heard of! For all of them, I have either used them in the past or still currently use them. Not all of them are your traditional “social media” type of apps but they all have social features ⭐️ I hope you enjoy them - save this post to come back to it later if you’d like!

Tucked away on Rue Jacob in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, I instantly fell for Nathan Baraness’s apartment. Historic details like the original beams and herringbone floors are beautifully balanced with rich marble, warm woods, sculptural lighting, carefully collected vintage pieces and remarkable works by Miró, Matisse, Maillol and Picasso.

A home where every room tells a story, layered with character, beautiful materials and a timeless sense of soul. Via @joinfaive
