🚨 TESTIFY & PITCH LA FINALIST

Meet Terence Simpson Jr., Co-Founder & CEO of JoinLinks, one of our finalists taking the Testify & Pitch stage during LA Tech Week.

JoinLinks is where people in LA find things to do and the people to do them with. The community app helps people discover local events and show up together, while giving organizers the tools to bring people together and keep them connected. Today, nearly 15,000 people in LA use JoinLinks.

But JoinLinks started with Terence’s own experience.

After moving from New York to LA, Terence experienced firsthand how lonely it can be to start over in a new city without knowing anyone. Later, as the organizer of Good Fridays, a faith-based community that grew to more than 500 people, he experienced the other side of the challenge: how difficult it can be to bring people together when the tools you need are scattered everywhere.

He lived both sides of the problem, and JoinLinks was born from that experience.

But every build has a story that doesn’t always make it into the pitch.

The pitch tells us what you’re building. The testimony tells us what it took to build it. That’s the story we want to hear.

Terence, we’re honored to have you on the Testify & Pitch stage. We can’t wait to hear your story.

LA, get ready. 🔥

We pitch different. Heavy on the testimony.

Making friends as an adult can be hard, especially when you’re new to a city. Somehow @joinlinks turned into Sunday football, potlucks, game nights, nights out and a whole community I didn’t have three months ago.

Moral of the story: go outside. Even if the internet has to get you there first
