Models walk, shift, writhe, and dance over layers upon layers of plastic, illuminated only by images flashing by at 60 frames per second: Warp speed, frenetic compositions creating a hyperlingual, subliminal continuum. A speech to text voiceover narrates the space before breaking down. Live strings coalesce and collapse. A figure appears to be sacrificed. Aesthetics of decay endlessly reference the conditions of their own creation to the point of losing all meaning—That’s the exact message being signaled. What we’re doing is presenting a vision of our current dystopia, this extant post apocalypse we’ve been living, and, rather than attempting to criticize it (which tends to prove lazy) we’re saying what if it’s beautiful? What if it’s perfect? What if it’s utopia, actually? @joint.nyc #fashionshow #performanceart #nyfw
