🔥 Georgia O’Keeffe: total badass!
A sublime visit to her house and studio in Abiquiu. I’m still not totally sold on the art, but her fearlessness—and her wildly gorgeous approach to where and how she lived—are undeniable.
🔥 Santa Fe history = mind-blowing.
Loved meeting Andrea Fisher and lunching at her remarkable historic home, built around 1350 AD. Yes, before Columbus.
🔥 The Willa Hotel = wow.
In Taos, completely blown away by the vibe and design of this beautifully restored former motel. Major kudos to Casetta Group and Electric Bowery for making adaptive reuse look this good.
Huge thanks to Karen (and Ryn) for an extraordinary week with @adventuresinart . ❤️
And now… from 1350 AD to the future. 🇨🇳✈️ Off to China next week for a tech + innovation adventure. Big thanks to @tcsworldtravel and @pabmiami for getting me organized for that epic trip.

Join us this Saturday for an intimate performance from exhibiting artists Joanna Keane Lopez & Santino Gonzales. We are absolutely honored to have these artists perform at the Arthur Bell Auditorium at Harwood Museum. Buy your tickets on our website now or at the door (if we don't sell out!).

"Noche Blanca" is an ongoing music project of Joanna Keane Lopez and collaboration with W.R. Cook. The songs are intuitive melodies and incantations drawn from the night, the moon, the stars, murder ballads, drunkenness, loss and love.

"Immaculate Constellation," is a live performance by Santino Gonzales where music, memory, and time blur. Through layers of ambient guitar, field recordings, messages from loved ones, and illuminated by archival home video, Tino invites listeners to tune-in closely.

Unfinished City 02: tierra
Saturday, September 19, 2026 5:00-8:00 PM

Materials & Applications Earthen Comforts: Airing Earth x Craft Contemporary Courtyard

Join us at Craft Contemporary on September 19 for the second installment in our ongoing program, Unfinished City, which will feature a gallery tour of the museum's Clay Biennial exhibit, tierra

Los Angeles is often described as an “unfinished city,” constantly evolving and resisting traditional urban models. From its origins as a Spanish colonial settlement to its emergence as a global metropolis, LA’s development has been shaped by cycles of rapid expansion, reinvention, and cultural blending.

Unfinished City

Today we face a crushing housing crisis. It is incredibly expensive to build in Los Angeles, to the point that for many there is no place to live. Labor costs weigh down project budgets such that material selection for projects with narrow margins is driven more by cost to install than cost to procure. Construction material supply chains set up to address mass housing and construction booms of a century ago drive material selection to a few common denominators.

In this series, we ask how we got here. We read the built environment for the political past and present by focusing each lecture on a specific material, the land it comes from, and the labor that puts it in place.

Join us at the Craft Contemporary on September 19 for a gallery tour of the museum's Clay Biennial exhibit, tierra led by Danila Cervantes, with Joanna Keane Lopez and Jackie Amezquita on their works and practices, followed by a conversation with Joanna, Jackie, Carol Zou and Tracy Fenix, in the courtyard outside.

The Unearthing Futures exhibition @harwoodmuseum of Taos, New Mexico is a landmark show of artists who work with adobe as an essential material in their practice.

I feel beyond grateful to show alongside and be in conversation with artists, Christine Howard Sandoval, rafa esparza, Gabriel Chaile, Ronald Rael and Santino Gonzalez.

The exhibition also includes works by the amazing Carole Crews, and guest curated gallery spaces by Deborah Lujan of Taos Pueblo and Guadalupe Tafoya of Taos, NM.

A huge thank you to the curatorial team, Nicole Dial-Kay @nicoledialkay , Adam Geluda Gildar @a_damn_guitar and Kate Miller @kkatemiller . Also a big thank you to Eric Carpio @carpioej at Fort Garland Museum!

Alongside the exhibition is a forthcoming publication that includes writings by the wonderful Raquel Gutiérrez @raquefella and Alicia Inéz Guzmán @inezsayz . As well as select essays by the artists themselves.

The exhibition has additional installations at the Fort Garland Museum in Southern Colorado as an effort to embrace the cultural and architectural landscape that New Mexico and Southern Colorado share. I highly recommend visiting @fortgarlandmuseum

And! October 3rd, there will performances by Santino and myself at the museum. Love to see you there 🤍
