She collects the tribute, but what arrives in her hands is bigger than currency: trust, desire, attention, devotion and surrender.

"Wi Know Her" is a space dedicated to celebrating young African women creatives, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who deserve to be seen,
heard, and spotlighted.

What happens when makeup stops being about looking “pretty” and becomes a form of storytelling?

For multidisciplinary artist Anjola Juba, the face is a canvas. From editorial and SFX makeup to textile design, her work is rooted in curiosity, experimentation and a desire to push beyond conventional ideas of beauty.

Inspired by everything from The Hunger Games to music videos and runway shows, Anjola is interested in what makeup can communicate, create and transform.

And she’s only getting started.

We sat down with Anjola to talk about finding her way into makeup, building a creative process around intuition, redefining beauty and her plans to explore everything from film and fashion to textiles, furniture and beyond.
