This Sunday, 25 October, we’ll be celebrating the release of 胡軒暢 HuXC’s debut EP 山林四时 with a special gathering at Creator Dock, a scenic creative space by the East Lake.

Alongside a live performance by 胡軒暢 HuXC, the event will feature a modular set by acclaimed music producer Zhu Jie (祝捷), followed by a conversation hosted by Wu Zhuoling (吴卓玲), musician and co-founder of Small Projects.

We’ve also put together a selection of special treats for the occasion, including Small Projects’ handcrafted Tibetan incense, Wen Sheng Meng Xin (闻声萌新), a live gongfu tea session by White2Tea (@white2tea), one-on-one astrology readings, and a vinyl listening session. A carefully curated autumn gathering for all our friends and supporters joining us to celebrate.

10.16 墨尔本 ↔ 成都真情一线牵 Thread @ T²

汇聚来自本地与海外的艺术家，
@thread._____ at T² 将探索声音与光线的光谱，
在成都 Flower Town 展开一场横跨 12 小时的舞蹈。

Thread 是一支来自墨尔本的团队，致力于发掘、聚合当地以及海外的亚洲艺术家。他们与成都之间一直有着特别的共鸣，这一次终于来到这里，在 T² 庆祝这场期待已久、意义非凡的特别聚会。

本次活动将由 DJ Makoyana 和 mishLXY 代表 Thread 登台，nicholaspjm 负责灯光与装置。作为 Thread 自发组织的亚洲秋季巡演，他们很期待与一些自己最喜爱的本地艺术家一起，在成都呈现这场特别的活动。

Makoyana 是澳大利亚多家顶尖俱乐部（如 Miscellania、Solace、Angel Music Bar）及舞曲音乐节（如 Moniker、Pitch Music & Arts、For The Cause）备受推崇的 DJ，尤以其独特的 Techno、House 及适合“After-hours”（深夜派对后时段）的冷门佳作选曲而闻名，演出形式涵盖黑胶与数字媒介。除了舞曲领域，他还以资深“唱片挖掘者”（digger）的身份享有盛誉，是各类聆听型活动——从 Trip-hop 到实验音乐——的首选选曲人。

mishLXY（她/her）是一位来自 Naarm（澳大利亚墨尔本）的 DJ，以其精心编排的音乐选曲和风格多样的艺术表现力而闻名。她的舞池曲目主要涵盖深邃简约的 Progressive House、另类 Techno（Leftfield Techno）以及富含多重节奏（polyrhythmic）的电子音乐。除了 Thread 之外，她还在 Area3000 运营 @in.motion_radio，致力于推介亚裔女性及性别流动（gender-fluid）艺术家。

between the emotional support Eevee i got in the empty Haneda Airport and the Crybaby at Beijing Capital Airport, other loves were dispensed not by an vending machine. i had many kinds of noodles, buns, dinners and breakfasts, and bowls of peeled pomegranate unceremoniously presented to me by my mom every day. also waited for red lights to change on different bikes amongst people who lived very different lives, walked at night with friends, walked in the day with friends and stood in front of old-fashioned newsstand on street corners, went to KTV, had a nonalcoholic drink at an academic bar, asked one of my favorite musicians for a selfie, read in bookstores, read Lu Xun’s love letters, read too much of my teenage writing, learned to make noodles from mom, climbed to a view with mom. home was the time spent not thinking about home. for two weeks it did not rain in Beijing.

Small Projects 8th Anniversary Special w/ Alex Banks (A/V Live)

For our 8th anniversary, we’re bringing Alex Banks to NU Lab, Chengdu for the final stop of his China tour.

Following Shenzhen and Shanghai, Alex presents his immersive A/V live show, combining his latest release Elements with bespoke visuals created for each track.

Joining him is a special Chengdu lineup: Wu Zhuoling (Live), Kaishandao (Live), 胡轩畅 HU/XC (Live), Sanyo and DJ Pex — bringing together deep electronics, traditional Chinese instruments and serious dancefloor energy.

**Alex Banks — China A/V Tour**

This September, as part of Small Projects’ 8th anniversary, we’re bringing Alex Banks to Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chengdu for his first China tour.

Alex brings his full A/V live show, pairing his intricate electronic production — moving between broken beats, IDM, atmospheric textures and driving club rhythms — with bespoke visuals.

Joining him across all three dates is Wu Zhuoling, with her hardware-only live set spanning ambient, electronica, IDM and leftfield techno.

The club events in Shenzhen and Chengdu will each feature a strong lineup of local artists, while the Shanghai show will be a special audiovisual performance on the big screen at Future House.

On 24 September we’re kicking off Alex Banks’ first China tour at OIL Club (Shenzhen), as part of Small Projects’ 8th anniversary celebrations.

Hailing from Brighton, UK, Alex Banks has spent over a decade developing a distinctive take on electronic music, balancing intricate production with club energy. His newest release Elements, which arrived on Mesh in July, marks the latest chapter in this ongoing exploration.

For the first time in China, Alex will present his full audiovisual show, combining his live electronic performance with bespoke visuals created for his music. Expect a set that moves between detailed textures, deep atmosphere and driving rhythmic momentum.

Opening the night, Wu Zhuoling brings her hardware-only live set, drawing on ambient, electronica, IDM and leftfield techno to create a deep and immersive sound environment.

Uncharted Remixes is a remix compilation featuring tracks by seven producers, each with a distinct musical style and approach. The original tracks come from Wu Zhuoling’s two previously released EPs, Uncharted and Uncharted II, from which the compilation takes its name.

Wu Zhuoling invited seven musician friends to each choose a track they connected with and create their own interpretation. The result is a diverse collection of striking remixes, each offering a different perspective on the original material.

Several of these remixes were previously included on the double LP Uncharted I & II, released in 2026. Now, the complete collection of remixes is available digitally across platforms worldwide.

The compilation artwork is another kind of remix in itself: a hand-drawn reinterpretation by Wu Zhuoling, based on the original cover artwork of Uncharted I & II.

Taken together, these remixes boldly expand and complement the musical palette and tonal landscape of the two original EPs, further fleshing out the deep and fantastical world of Uncharted.

To celebrate Small Projects’ eighth anniversary, we’re taking over four cities this September, with a series of special events in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Chengdu.

First up, we’re teaming up with @kiwese.world in Chengdu for the inevitable return of the mighty Chengdu Sistahz this weekend at Tin. The following week, we head to Beijing for a special Small Projects night at Rugs*, bringing together our team with a stacked lineup of local artists.

After a short break, we’re back for the final stretch: a three-city tour with British producer @alexbanksmusic , bringing his A/V live show to Shenzhen, Shanghai, and — for the grand finale — Chengdu.

We’d love to see familiar faces, new friends, and everyone in between as we celebrate eight years of Small Projects!
