Acts of Service people… this one was for you. Type a🤎if you agree! During this segment of the live show, we unpacked how love languages show up through behavior... the small, intentional actions Jolissa was naming in real time. Not everyone says “I love you.” Some people show it.

Okay, okay, fashionably late is kind of my signature, right? 😅 It’s been a whole month since my birthday on November 19th, and I’ve been soaking up all the love and good vibes ever since. ✨ Just popping on here (finally!) to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made my day so special. Trust me, the celebration might be over, but the gratitude is still glowing.

In this conversation, you’re seeing two friends of over 20 years draw from three things:

knowledge of ourselves,
knowledge of each other,
and shared knowledge we’ve each gained through therapy.

That combination is what allows us to talk about healing with compassion instead of judgment.

Healing isn’t linear.
And repeating a behavior doesn’t mean you “fell off.” Often, it means your nervous system is under stress.

The brain runs on habit loops. Under pressure, it will reach for what’s familiar….even if you’ve done the work, even if you’ve grown. That’s not failure. That’s information.

That’s why we’re careful about how harsh we are with ourselves and our friends. When you see someone repeating a behavior they thought they’d outgrown, the real question isn’t “What’s wrong with you?” It’s “What’s going on with you?”

One tool we reference is the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, a clinically supported practice used in therapy to interrupt anxiety and regulate the nervous system:
• 5 things you can see
• 4 things you can feel
• 3 things you can hear
• 2 things you can smell
• 1 thing you can taste

It takes less than 30 seconds—and for many of us, it acts as a hard reset when anxiety, depression, or emotional spirals start to surface.

To be clear: we are not here to replace traditional, licensed, clinical therapy.
What we are doing is using collective experience, shared language, and emotional literacy to help people better understand what they may be experiencing and to point them toward the appropriate professional resources when deeper support is needed.

This is psychoeducation, not treatment. Tools, not therapy.
Community, not substitution.

In this LIVE Healing Social conversation, we got real about situationships, emotional patterns, and authentic connection with laughs, honesty, and a few “oh wow… that’s me” moments 👀

We break down why these dynamics keep showing up and how awareness (not blame) helps us move differently in love.

“Falling for Her” an event experience presented and powered by Spark United (@spark_the_convo ) featuring The Healing Social Live (@thehealingsociall ) was such a success!

It was an honor to contribute to a mission that uplifts, empowers, and pours into women in the most authentic way.

My cast shared with such transparency and authenticity. Their openness truly enriched the experience and created a powerful segway for connection and healing. The room was moved and we accomplished what we came to do! Because the stories matter, community matters!
