I stopped off at Coret Coffee in Shires Yard for an iced coffee and thought what a nice scene this was as I left. The flowers, the girl crouching to make her selection, sunshine through the archway and shadows, plus a peek at Jolly's across the road.

You know when I said I wasn't buying any more art?
I bought more art.
This is a beautiful pastel portrait from the 1840s. She was in a huuuuge ugly modern frame but a quick peek at the back revealed the label from the famous #Bath department store which opened in 1823 and is (amazingly) getting a revamp and reopening! @jollysbath and as Bath is on my list of places that I really want to see, I shall have to make a trip this summer. The artist was John Hunter (I think) so I need to do a bit more research but she needs a new, old frame before she finds a space on my wall. #victorian #art #jollysofbath
