When people ask about Socks’ Love Barbecue, I have to tell them it was never our plan to have a restaurant. In fact we said for a long time that we didn’t want a restaurant! But God… He had plans for Steven and I couldn’t deny it. What didn’t make sense just kept working. We were always just meant to be the carriers of His vision. Steven followed his dreams and honed his craft to become one of the best in the industry. He achieved greatness and won many awards. But we always knew that the “why” of this small business was to be a leader in the community and we 100% accomplished that. Steven always showed up as himself. Authentically himself. And people were drawn to him. I couldn’t be more proud of what he did. Steven, well done.

Thank you to our kids who believed in this as much as we did and worked many hours in the family business. And thank you to all of our friends and family who have prayed for us and supported us all along the way. We would never have been able to do all of this without you.

As of September 1, Socks Love Barbecue has new ownership. Our prayer is that they will continue to be a leader in the community and have great success. It’s bittersweet AND we are hopeful and excited about the next chapter.

#latergram We had such a great time in MX celebrating B’s graduation. Grateful for a little sun and a lot of fun. Now to enjoy another month before they head off (or back) to college ❤️ and only 3 more weeks until S comes home!

Celebrated Sully today 🎉 he leaves Monday to spend the summer in Montana 🏔️ we are so excited for this opportunity for him and know that it is going to be a life changing experience. We are so proud of you son! Go be great.
