After a brilliant chapter founding and building Spindle working alongside a bunch of incredibly talented and inspiring people, I made the decision to focus fully on directing and writing and to begin a new phase of my career. The call of leading a fully creative life was getting louder and louder and I needed to listen to my heart.

I’m hugely grateful to everyone at Spindle for the support, collaboration, friendship and opportunities over the past years andI can’t stress what a formative time in my life this has been. The crews we’ve worked with, the companies we’ve collaborated with, the favours, the hustle, the hard work, the fact we followed our vision through to where it genuinely worked. I’ll always remember the three days we released Experiments in Speed, Have a Word, and Hey Jude - all three going viral, racking up hundreds of millions of views, and the latter two winning big at awards across the world. A Glass Lion in the bag… that was special.

The biggest shouts go to Stitch and Tim, who have been on this wild ride with me since the start. Em, Adam, Mayling, Sophia, JB, Johnny, Marie and Jess the same. Thanks for everything!

Ultimately when it came down to the next steps with Spindle, we closed Spindle because we chose to, not because we needed to. All of us were, and I guess always will be, driven by the creative work, and we realised that the best work still ahead of us was going to be in our own ways outside of Spindle. We’ve always made decisions based on our ambition, and I’m proud of the fact this was no different. This comes after the best start to a year we’d ever had. So it was about being true to ourselves and making the move at a moment when we could honour the staff, the directors and everything we’d built!

Now I’m excited to be joining Park Pictures in the US and UK. I’ve loved their work for a long time and it’s a roster of directors I’m very proud to be among; some of their directors I idolised when I was coming up. I want to concentrate my time and focus on filmmaking, writing and ultimately creating and producing work that I feel invested in.

Let’s GO!
