I didn’t feel ready for this. Maybe that was the whole point!!!

Yesterday, I competed in my 2nd Boulderfest and this time, I challenged myself by entering the intermediate division. I was scared, underprepared, and honestly unsure of what I was capable of.

Life and work had gotten in the way, and lately we had only been climbing once or twice a month if we were lucky. A part of me wondered if I had lost my progress. But another part of me needed to know: What could happen if I stopped doubting myself and just tried?

PJay competed too, but in a different category. I worried I might feel alone because last year I competed alongside my friends but my gym homie Dustin never left my side. He carried my scorecard around like it was his own and cheered me on the entire time 😂 I was also glad PJay had Ethan climbing beside him in his division.

That’s what made this day so special. It wasn’t only about how many climbs I finished. It was about showing up scared, pushing harder than I normally would, and realizing that I’m stronger than I’ve been giving myself credit for.

Sometimes progress happens quietly. You may not see it or feel it while life is keeping you busy but then one day, you take a chance on yourself and realize how far you’ve come.

So if you’re waiting until you feel completely ready, this is your reminder that you don’t have to be. Show up nervous. Show up underprepared. Show up exactly as you are. You might surprise yourself. ❤️

P.S. My Boulderfest top was thrifted from @uptowngilbertaz Who knew my little thrift find would end up competing in intermediate with me? 😂💗
