The Gruesome Twosome holding down the fort and keeping the performers and audience moist at Tokyo Comedy Bar during last night's wild shows.

The Tokyo International Comedy Festival is coming to an end this weekend - but it is certainly not winding down. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are packed with talent-filled shows.

I'll be at working both the Friday and Saturday shows at Mame Romantic in Daikanyama as festival staff. Say hi if you're there!

Check @tokyocomedybar for schedule and Tix

My daughter and her friend showed up to watch me do creepy dad jokes at TCB last night!

On Monday Aug 10th I performed two sets. These were mics 47 & 48 for me.

My first set was a 7:30 Showcase performance. This was my second showcase at TCB. Like my first, it was an unplanned honor, as I was asked to step up shortly before the show and fill in for a scheduled well-known comedian who was unavailable.

I had a fun 4 minute set in front of a cozy and responsive audience. The host Evans joked about my set with the audience for quite some time after I finished - I think that's a good thing (?)

At 9 pm I joined 13 other comics and host Kat for the Monday Night Mic show. My daughter had already told me she and a friend were coming. I prepared some extra special content with her in mind.

My material as usual was all highly inappropriate. It went over well. Ten was a good sport and the star of the set. One of the best moments of my life. She and her friend also enjoyed the rest of the show.

My favorite night of performing so far!

Thanks to:
@tokyocomedybar for helping keep families together
@evans_musoka for hosting & support - I hope you someday get to enjoy "the pleasures of the orient" too
@katrandle - every. single. time.
@theonlyrealsamb for taking a chance on me last night 🙏

What an unforgettable evening. 🤍 Thank you to everyone who came and shared this intimate night with me in Tokyo. It became exactly what I hoped for, a warm room filled with music, conversations, new friendships, good energy, and people connecting with each other.

This was my first time hosting an evening like this in Tokyo, and everyone who came became a part of making it something truly special.

To sing, share the story behind the music, and see people come together around it meant more than I can explain.

I’m so grateful for every person who was there, every conversation, every smile, every moment captured, and every new connection made.

This was only the beginning. More nights like this will come.

Thank you for being part of it. 🕊️

1.5 years ago when I started in Japan there wasn't much standup in Osaka, none in Kyoto. Now there are 3 brands running English shows, collaborating together to grow the scene! To get to perform alongside your peers whose level you admire and try to emulate, to see our small but flourishing @kansaicomedy community involved, simply warms my heart.

We performed to 100 people in Osaka last night! 🤯 50 in Kyoto on Friday. Thanks to @evans_musoka @ricchaadotv and @tokyocomedybar for freakin' wild On Tour shows this weekend, and to all of you Kansai punters who sold out 2 shows! You are the scene! Can't wait for the next one legends 🫡

Last year we Toured Japan for a second time and got to hang with some of our favorite people! It has taken us a while to get through all the footage but here is our tour music video, filmed by our fans and friends from the crowd. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this!
