YOUR JOB GETS 8–10 HOURS OF YOUR DAY. YOUR BODY GETS WHATEVER’S LEFT. 👀

At some point, that schedule needs to change.

If you spend your workday leaning toward a screen, shoulders rounded forward, this movement deserves your attention.

This cable row strengthens the muscles across your upper and middle back the muscles that help pull your shoulder blades back together. Building strength and control here can help support better posture over time.

Watch how my shoulder blades move as I pull. That’s the detail I want you paying attention to. 💪

Here’s how to practice it:

✅ Keep your chest comfortably tall and your body steady.
✅ Pull your elbows back while gently bringing your shoulder blades together.
✅ Pause briefly and feel your back muscles working.
✅ Slowly return, allowing your shoulder blades to move forward under control.

Choose a weight you can control through the entire movement. Every repetition should look intentional.

And give your body some movement during the workday, too. Stand up, walk around, and change positions regularly. Strength training and daily habits work together.

You put effort into your deadlines, your meetings, and your career. Your body deserves a spot on that calendar.

STOP BLAMING CARBS WHILE IGNORING THE HABITS DESTROYING YOUR INSULIN SENSITIVITY.

You sit most of the day.
You barely strength train.
You sleep five hours.
You eat very little fiber.
Then you expect berberine and cinnamon to fix everything.

That’s not how this works.

Insulin helps move glucose from your blood into your cells for energy. When your cells become resistant, your pancreas must work harder and release more insulin to get the same job done.

Over time, that can contribute to elevated blood sugar, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, high triglycerides and high blood pressure.

Can berberine, inositol and cinnamon help? Possibly.

🌿 Berberine may support blood-sugar control and insulin sensitivity.
⚪ Inositol may improve certain metabolic markers, especially in women with PCOS.
🤎 Cinnamon may provide a modest benefit, but the evidence is mixed.

Supplements can support the process. They cannot replace the process.

Lift weights. Walk every day. Eat enough protein and fiber. Manage your body composition. Get serious about your sleep.

Build the foundation first then earn the right to worry about the extras.

“You’re too fat.”
“You don’t have the genetics.”
“You’ll never build muscle like those other guys.”

If I had listened, the picture on the right would never exist.

People will look at your starting point and decide that’s all you’ll ever be. Some will even get uncomfortable when you start proving them wrong.

Let them.

They don’t get to decide your potential before you’ve had the chance to work for it.

That kid on the left deserved a chance to find out what he could become. I’m glad I gave him one.

The years between these pictures took work. Showing up when progress was slow. Learning. Making mistakes. Getting back after it.

And when you start winning? Some of the same people who doubted you suddenly have plenty to say.

You don’t owe everyone access to your life just because they’re paying attention now.

Protect your peace. Keep people around who support your growth and tell you the truth.

If you’re letting somebody’s comment keep you out of the gym, off the stage, or afraid to start stop giving them that much authority over your future.

Keep showing up long enough to discover what you’re capable of.

They can talk. You’ve got work to do. ⚔️

When you do hard things for “fun”, the obstacles life throws at you become 100% beatable. 💯

Patrick fussing at Steven 🛻… just another day at Level Up 😂💀

But behind all the arguing, there’s a message bigger than the gym.

Success doesn’t start when you clock in. It starts with discipline, consistency, and the willingness to push yourself when nobody’s watching. 💪

The same mentality that builds strength in the gym builds success in business and in life.

Strong bodies. Strong minds. Strong leadership. 🔥

WHAT DRIVES YOU? 🔥

What gets you out of bed in the morning determined to be better than you were yesterday?

Your family? Your health? The chance to feel strong and confident again? The satisfaction of keeping a promise to yourself?

If you don’t know, take the time to find it.

Give your goals a reason that means something to YOU. Something you can come back to when you’re tired, progress feels slow, and showing up gets difficult.

Because some mornings, motivation will be low. That’s when your habits, your commitment, and your reason for starting matter most.

Get specific. What do you want your life to look like? What can you do TODAY to move toward it?

Take the walk. Do the workout. Prepare the meal. Keep that promise.

Build a life you’re proud to wake up and work on. One decision at a time.

What’s your reason for showing up?

Why isn’t the middle of my chest activating?

Here ya go! 💪

YOU’LL MAKE TIME FOR EVERY MUSCLE GROUP… THEN TREAT MOBILITY LIKE IT’S OPTIONAL. 👀

You schedule chest day. You never miss arms. But stretching and working on how you move? “I’ll do that later.”

How long has “later” been?

Your body has to carry you through more than a workout. Getting off the floor. Reaching overhead. Playing with your kids. Handling everyday tasks with confidence.

Those things deserve a place in your training, too.

At The Sanctuary Gym’s Mobility & Stretch Class, we’ll work through guided stretching, foam rolling, lacrosse ball techniques, and hip and full-body mobility—so you can learn practical tools to use beyond class.

You don’t have to be flexible to show up. That’s part of what we’re here to work on.

Give moving better the same attention you give lifting heavier. 💪
