Phuzz Phest is coming to @Still.Grimey! 👖😎🧢 Join us Saturday, April 11 for a night of dreamy keyboard bliss with @JonathancKirby and Moon Racer (@septoctnov), and maybe pick up some new threads while you’re at it. Single day, 2-day and 3-day tickets are on sale now at PhuzzPhest.com “Kirby’s own music often sounds like it could be some dusty private press situation: vintage drum machines, analog synths, homespun vibes… Safe To Disconnect is an extremely sweet collection of instrumentals, dreamlike zones to soundtrack your days and nights.” – Aquarium Drunkard Moon Racer’s Autumn E. creates fuzzy keyboard pop songs in her bedroom in Durham, NC, leaning heavily on vintage Casios and Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. The Fader describes her music as a “dream-like exercise in mood and melody, a droopy-eyed blur of percussive loops, delicate vocals, and light tape hiss.”

Alright, it’s time to get it cracking for #wpw - wanted to drop this mostly unknown joint right here by Mitch Clarke coming from straight out of my beloved North Carolina ✨ I had to run this joint past my guy @jonathanckirby one of if not THE authority on records and music knowledge coming out of North Carolina (go give my guy a follow and show some love!) a month or two back because I’ve had this for a long time and just never knew much about it or who Mitch even is. Until we dug into it of course 💡 This private press on Merch Records was a one and done by Mitch and with Harry Deal being credited as the engineer (he also started Harry Deal and the Galaxies with his brother Jim) and proprietor of Galaxy III studios in Taylorsville, NC there’s only so far you’ll really be able to go from such a local scene. After reaching out to some other cats, come to find out Mitch had an affiliation with the Galaxies and even played the drums with the gang (albeit for a short time) and decided to give his own solo sound a shot with this record here. The group was pretty well known regionally in the beach music scene out here in the Carolinas. While ol’ Harry definitely uhhhh had his views…. politically (I think we all know where this leads), there’s no denying his contributions to the scene down here. Either way, a fly cut for Wypipo Wednesday ✨ #wpw #harrywastrippin #butweaint #fuckwhatyouheard
