Architect Rudy Baumfeld of Victor Gruen and Associates dreamed up the unique expressionistic shape of the current Bank of America in South Palm Springs. Inspired by the 1954 Chapel Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France, the chapel's Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier embraced the idea that midcentury modern design didn't have to mean geometric boxes and sleek industrial lines; it could also take more organic forms.

On February 13-21, stroll South Palm Canyon Drive and see this and other midcentury modern commercial buildings in the city. Learn about the history of the Cahuilla tribe, early settlers, visionaries, and the giants of architecture responsible for making Palm Springs the modernism magnet of the world.

Tickets for the Giants of Architecture tour available at modernismweek.com.

That minty fresh welcome ✨

Soft desert tones, midcentury lines, and a dreamy front door feels like a breath of cool air in the Palm Springs sun. If you could paint your door any color, what would you choose?

We live for the drama.

Iconic architecture is our calling card in Palm Springs. This Swiss Miss house is one of thirteen dotted across the desert with a dramatic A-frame slant, designed as an oasis for the who's-who of Hollywood in 1958 by Charles Dubuois. The tea that must have been spilled inside the slanted walls of this celebrity hideout was piping. 🔥

Which hotspot hideaway will you discover on your trip? Visit our link in bio for more.

Iconic @bevhillshotel by @jonathanryantaylor

The Beverly Hills Hotel opened in 1912, before the city was incorporated, so it didn’t move into luxury… it literally invented it.

Beverly Hills was basically just dirt and dreams before that.

Long story short - you’re welcome, Beverly Hills 💅🏻
