How do you distill 10 days exploring Southern California in a post? We visited the world famous San Diego Zoo which was awesome, snorkeled in La Jolla Cove with Sea Lions, explored slot canyons, took a sailing lesson, watched the stars come out over Joshua Tree National Park, toured Warner Brother’s Studio, went to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, met Darth Maul and Princess Leia at DisneyLand, kayaked sea caves and snorkeled some more off Channel Islands National Park, caught a broadway show before flying home. It was awesome! But the best part was being together. Hearing our kids laughing in the backseat. Having this time together now before Emma moves away to Louisville and Jon goes back to med school. It’s going to be different come August, it will be a new chapter for Jill and I. So glad we took this trip. And so grateful for Jill for planning it out. And because the only really good thing about Facebook are the Memories, I’m going to post a lot of photos. Special thanks to the Reilly’s for saving Maggie and keeping her for the week!

Another member of ULSOM CO2029! Meet Jon!🤗

"I absolutely love the field of vascular surgery. I find it endlessly fascinating that you can both remove plaque and reroute the blood flow around an occlusion by anastomosing two vessels! Endovascular cases also have this beautiful complexity, as each surgeon has a different way of treating a lesion, and new devices are constantly being developed. If that wasn't amazing enough, vascular surgeons also do procedures on a different patient population who have varicose veins! I've spent the last three years working with vascular surgeons, and I can't wait to share this love with my peers!"🫀🩺

I guess it's about time I admit undergrad is actually over. I always thought that people were lying about college being any different from all the other years of school, but they were totally right. While these past 4 years have been some of the hardest, they were also the years that showed me true growth and support.

I want to say thank you to all my wonderful friends and professors who were there with me along the way. The precious friends I've made along the way are people who have not only changed my life but have shown me what's truly important, and I hope we can keep our bonds close for years to come.

I'm thankful that I got to enjoy some of these years with my closest sister, Catherine, and I'll always hold the memories close. Can't wait to watch you finish your final year and go on to do great things!
