Sitting here thinking on these last 35 years, I am humbled to realize that I have been fortunate enough to live several lifetimes in my short time on this earth. I was born in a small town that I thought I would never leave when I was a kid. But, I did leave home at 19 years old, almost 16 years ago, and since then, I have traversed the globe several times over and been to far off lands I thought I would only see in the pages of National Geographic and travel magazines.

I have made a career out of working with fantastically talented artists in making their visions come to life and take my part in making people’s dreams come true. I have been blessed to experience the excitement of a first kiss, the passion of being deeply in love, and the anguish of being utterly broken. I have lost friends and loved ones far too early and held them in their last moments. And I am now at that age where I have watched close friends bring new life into this world and become amazing parents despite what the world throws at them.

I left part of my heart in the concrete deserts of Los Angeles and another piece in the urban rainforests surrounding Portland, OR. Now, I find myself back from whence I came, on the high plains of Wyoming while I wait for the whistling wind to blow me yonder. But, life continues to bless me with new places, new people, new experiences, and an everlong love for music.

I once heard someone say that you’re not even a real person till you’re 35. So this year, as I find myself 35 and still alive, my gift to myself is to embrace the chaos and continue to live with some sort of carefree abandon while maintaining a concentrated focus on being 1% better every day. A better person, a better son, a better friend, a better musician, a better version of myself. There is 100 foot wave coming and when I see it on the horizon, I will be ready to take the ride!

If you managed to read this far, I want you to know that I appreciate you being a part of my life’s journey in some way. We are formed by the people, places, and experiences that the cosmic lottery gifts us. For this, I am indebted with endless gratitude for all those that I have ever loved and been loved by.

Sitting on the plane from Amsterdam to Los Angeles after finishing up the last Sparks tour of the year. I am so happy I got the chance to do some shows and finish out their year with them. Also, I am truly honored to share what may be my most lasting contribution to the music industry thus far. Not as a musician, technician, or engineer, but as a photographer. Ronald and Russell were kind enough to select a photo I took from stage at the Greek Theatre in September of 2025 to superimpose themselves on to the moon and include in the record liner of their latest release Sparks: Live on the Moon. I always wanted to see my name in the record liner when I was a kid and this is the second live record I have been fortunate enough to be apart of. But, it feels truly special not just to have worked on this tour but have had Ron and Russell to trust me to capture these moments they share with their audience every night.

What a privilege it has been to spend the past few months on the road with @halfaliveco and the Persona Tour crew! Such a positive environment filled with beautiful souls and wonderful fans. I turned 34 the other day and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends at this point in life, especially ones who make you excited to get up and go to work everyday!
