For years, fibroids stole my peace. They dictated my days, my body, and so much of my life. So being part of @wecanwearwhite’s EmPOWERment Experience means something deeply personal to me. šŸ’œ

It was an honor to moderate the Empowered Patient: Holistic Healing for Fibroid Warriors session with @theonlydaphneeduplaix and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon @soyinihawkinsmd—because Daphnée’s story demonstrates something I believe every woman with fibroids needs to know:

Healing doesn’t have to be holistic OR medical. It can be both.

When Daphnée first came to us, she said she felt like she was ā€œone period away from a heart attack or stroke.ā€ She had been bleeding for 45 consecutive days.

After six weeks of supporting her body with our BalanceHerĀ® Fibroids Kit protocol, her bleeding was reduced to a 6-day cycle. She then partnered with Dr. Hawkins for a minimally invasive hysteroscopic myomectomy using the Hologic MyoSureĀ® tissue removal system to address the fibroid causing her greatest challenges.

And her journey continues. šŸ’œ

She’s continuing to support her body and remaining fibroids with BalanceHerĀ® because Fibroids Freedom isn’t always about choosing one path—it’s about building the right team and the right personalized plan for YOU.

From the powerful conversations to the Night in White Gala and nearly $65,000 raised for The White Dress Project Patient Fund, this weekend was a reminder of what happens when women are given information, options, resources—and HOPE.

Your story doesn’t have to end with fibroids.

It can begin again with education.
With empowerment.
With the right support.
And with the belief that Better Health is possible.

From Washington, D.C. to the national convention (@NABJofficial) stage in Atlanta!

Our entire panel proudly represents the Washington Association of Black Journalists (@WABJDC) and we’re bringing a critical conversation to #NABJ26.

Together, we’ll examine how journalists can reshape the way we report on missing persons—challenging newsrooms to pursue more equitable, accurate, and compassionate coverage. Fair media coverage and resources like @blackandmissingfdn will better serve families and communities of missing loved ones.
