Peace y’all! I know… I’ve been quiet and in my shell 🐢 lately (see more details below). Popping out to invite you to my writing workshop TODAY at 1:00 pm ET with @theslapcollective …

“Come Get What You Need” writing workshop
Enjoy a series of never-before-seen prompts from previous workshops I’ve hosted over the last year.

TODAY, 9/19 @ 1 - 4 pm ET
(Drop in or out at anytime)
Zoom call link in bio

Why has it been so quiet?

I’ve been in reset mode—assessing what has and has not gotten my energy and focus, and what I really want to focus on to be and feel true to myself (aka “to shine brightly”). So, I’ve been spending quiet, quality time with myself, going back to basics and first loves like reading novels, journaling, painting/crafting, and dancing (but all sexy and in heels).

I’m also considering how I want to show up here consistently with you. Tell me in the comments, what would like to see more of on this channel?

A. “More writing & chat prompts please.”
B. “Share your own writing & art.”
C. “Tips on boosting my creativity and self-expression.”
D. Any other thought? Share in comments.

Peace y’all! It’s Tuesday! Time for our Creative Vibes writing prompt! Ok, so this week we are asking our inner child to share some wisdom. Here’s what we’ll do:

1. Think back to an age when you felt joyful or safe. How old were you? (Bonus: See in your mind where you were and what you were doing?)

2. Answer this: What is one thing your younger self wants you to remember?

3. In the comments below ⬇️, respond to today’s Creative Vibes prompt:

“My younger self wants me to remember…”

Check out my response in the comments! 📝💬

The last few days (ok, weeks) I’ve found myself in the prison of my perfectionism and dungeon of my self doubt. All of my critical, judgmental self-talk is echoing off the walls.

Have you been there? Maybe there right now? You’re not alone.

This weekend, the Spirit of God/Source/Divine Creator shined some light on my situation and dropped today’s prompt to share with you:

When I doubt myself, I remember…

Drop your response below! Swipe ➡️ to hear my response.

There’s something powerful about remembering who you are, what you have done, and what you are capable of. It can help to quiet that criticizing self-talk.

So, let me know below your response!

New month! It’s Tuesday! All-new Creative Vibes prompt! Kicking off this month exploring forgivingness and self compassion.

Am I the only one who is hard on myself and (too) self-critical? 🙋🏾‍♀️

It happens most with:

A missed deadline.
Feeling behind in goals.
Stuck on a thing I said weeks ago.

My inner perfectionist forgets I’m human and that I deserve grace, not a guilt trip.

Nothing shuts creativity down faster than guilt, blame & shame. That’s a perfect storm for self-doubt, causing “I can” to become “I can’t”.

Forgiveness and self-compassion has a way of freeing you from the guilt trip.

If you need to be freed up from the guilt, blame, and shame game, respond to this prompt:

“When I forgive myself, I create space for…”

Swipe ➡️ to see my response.

Hey friends! Always love being in community with you on Tuesday at 8:00 pm ET for Creative Vibes on @clubhouse. That’s where we use writing + chat prompts to spark creative connection and flow. Some folks like @acquiredtaste.me have written poems inspired by our prompts and others like @salma_ali_creates are writing scripts. It’s always come as you are and get what you need.

Tonight, I won’t be hosting the room 😔 BUT I’m not leaving ya hanging. ❤️ Let’s connect here and post a response to today’s nature-inspired prompt:

“What mountains (real or figurative) have you climbed or want to climb?”

Bonus: Describe the view at the top of this mountain.

Comment below or in your IG story and tag us (@shinebrightlycrew).

(I’ll share what I write too. 😌)
