POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy birthday to our founder, Joni Burden! Everything we do at J. Banks started with her vision and her heart. This year we’re celebrating 40 years of J. Banks Design, and we feel so lucky to be part of the story she’s been writing. We’re so grateful for you today and every day🎉

I’m excited to be part of Forward x Design, a new ASID working retreat bringing together a small, inspiring group of interior designers in Scottsdale this November.

I’ll be joining fellow design leaders, creative voices, and business experts for candid conversations around leadership, growth, creativity, and the future of our profession.

The intimate, highly interactive format creates real space for connection, conversation, and ideas that can move your practice forward.

I hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a meaningful, energizing experience!

Today, J. Banks Design turns 40! For four decades, we’ve had the privilege of designing homes, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and more, across the country and around the world.

Thank you to our clients, who trusted us with their vision. Thank you to our incredible staff, whose talent and heart show up in every project. And thank you to our vendors and partners, who help bring it all to life.

However you found us, we’re so grateful to have you in our world of Luxury without Pretense. 💌

This design is full of warmth and texture. Reds pulled from the barns that dot the ranches that surround Steamboat, golds from the wildflowers, leather that evokes horse tack and ranch wear; this resort is the wooing element of Colorado that beckons so many to stay.

Somebody pour us a mojito and point us toward that mountain view. We’ll be at High Hampton if anyone needs us🥂⛰️

Timbers trusted us to design a resort that belongs to the Lowcountry. In the penthouse, that meant ocean views that stop you in your tracks, blues that echo the landscape, and interiors that feel refined and relaxed all at once.

Designed by Joni Burden & Laura Bischofberger

Floor-to-ceiling views, a lit fireplace, and enough seating for everyone.

A built-in bar, a wine fridge, and two chairs with the best seat in the house.

Dinner with the Atlantic as your backdrop.

Even the hallway has something to say. A sky blue ceiling, porthole mirrors, and wave art that sets the tone.

The shower has an ocean view. We’ll let that sink in.

Wake up to the ocean, step onto the terrace, repeat. The primary suite at Timbers Kiawah was designed for exactly that.

A quiet corner with a view worth stopping for.

Outside, the Kiawah coast takes over. Al fresco dining has never looked quite like this.

Last night’s Storytellers event with @asid_ga and @subzerogroup_atlanta brought together an incredible lineup of designers to share the real stories behind great design!

Loved hearing from @joniwburden of @jbanksdesign, @smithhanesstudio, @suzannekasler, @peacedesign, and Janet Simpson of @tvsdesign, and seeing so many familiar faces.

Always a good night with this community.
