Family! Friends! Instagram! I’m ✨making art ✨

I’m so excited to share that over the past year I’ve been working with my good friends Joey, Renee, and Jono to create a new show about identity and community within the Filipino diaspora. We’ll be previewing a scene reading and an original song from “Hiraya: the fruit of one’s hopes, dreams, and aspirations” as part of @opera_reborn IndieFest 2025 Opening Gathering!

Hiraya will be one of three performances sharing the showcase alongside my incredible colleagues of the Convergence Cohort: @mykristinalao and @van_lefan

It’s going to be an amazing night of community gathering, connection, and celebration and I hope to see you all there! Event details below:

✨Opening Gathering✨
Nov 20 2025 | Tickets: PWYC ($10-$15)
DigiBC Creative Tech Studio
577 Great Northern Way, Vancouver BC

For our very final #WingsWednesday, we wanted to highlight the last 4 years due to the circumstances that followed the beginning of 2020. The global pandemic took a toll on all the members, as we weren’t able to come together in the beginning to sing and express ourselves creatively as often as we wanted to. It wasn’t until our very own Cecilia Federizon tied the knot, that some of the members were able to gather for their very first musical appearance since the pandemic - Cecilia & Jomar’s beautiful wedding.

In the summer of 2022, the vocal ensemble was given the opportunity to successfully audition, and then star in their own commercial in partnership with A&W. Their viral “$3.99 Limited Time” for Teen Burgers commercial was playing on every TV, computer, and phone screen once it launched! In November of the same year, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reached out to Wings Vocal Collective to perform at their “No Place Like Home” Gala, where WVC performed uplifting hits such as “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman and “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire.

In November 2023, PhilCas of BC invited the group to be part of their year-end showcase, called “Mabuhay 2023” - a culmination of traditional Filipino dancing and music derived from the country’s cultural tapestry.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our #WingsWednesdays 2024 series! Can’t wait to see some of you at our 10-Year Anniversary Concert - ALUMINA!

When the synergy is so good, it doesn’t matter how many years it’s been since we’ve all been in the same room together. When you’ve got it, you’ve got it.

➡️ Swipe for a new core memory 😂💙🪽
