CCHS junior Iayah Edwards, who did not attend Prom last year, is looking forward to tonight’s event which starts at 7 p.m. “Prom is exciting because you get to hang out with your friends, dance, sing and eat, so it’s just going to be fun,” Edwards said. “I’m looking forward to (seeing) everyone’s outfits and seeing what everyone feels the most confident in.” Photos by Grady Dunston, story by Liya Taylor

Clarke Central High School Prom Royalty nominee Jon Millians, a senior, stands before 1055 Barber, the site of 2024 CCHS Prom on April 27. Millians ran for Prom Royalty and handed out tickets advertising himself at Prom, though senior nominees Beck Wolf-Hardy and Temprince Battle were voted as Prom Royalty. “It was an opportunity for me to post funny pictures in the school hallways, otherwise you just can’t do that,” Millians said. “If you’re running, technically, I can do whatever I want as long as it says, vote for Jon Millians.” Photos and story by Grady Dunston

Addisyn Huff and Taylor Sims, seniors, were announced as Homecoming Royalty at the halftime of Clarke Central High School’s Homecoming game against Flowery Branch High School on Sept. 29. Addisyn, who was escorted by her father, CCHS Principal Dr. Swade Huff, and Sims, escorted by senior Isabelle Duncan, beat out six other court members to secure their spot in CCHS Homecoming history. “I was shocked. I was excited, but at the same time, I was overwhelmed,” Addisyn said. “I think this was a great experience for me, I love repping Clarke Central and repping Clarke Central with pride.” Photos by Aza Khan, story by Wyatt Meyer
