POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One week ago it was Nicole’s turn to host our newish dinner club. In January of 2025 I gathered a small group of women for dinner at my house; women who fill my heart with butterflies. Who make me laugh. Who I have the best, most honest conversations with. Some I knew well, some I didn’t know so well but they always made me feel really good. That dinner was the start of something beautiful. The group grows, new women have joined. It’s up to the hostess if she wants to include someone new, it’s open and generous.

My thoughts on friendship as I’ve ”grown up” is that it’s good and healthy to stir it up once in a while. You’re not the same person you were when you were 15 or 30 once you hit 45. A lot changes as you grow older, you go through rough patches in life whether is be parents getting older, personal health challenges, juggling a career and family and kids going through adolescence. It’s ok and necessary to make your own happiness and wellbeing a priority. If not you’ll fall apart. It’s ok to set boundaries and declare that your old ways of doing things are no longer working for you. This past year and a half I’ve found new people and rekindled old friendships - based on who I am today and what I want from friendship. I’ve had honest and amazing conversations that have led to even deeper relationships. I adore these women.

Finding new friends, and mixing up old constellations has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Introducing your old friends to your new friends, see what happens when you break free from rigid groups and just let it be more fluid and open. Every relationship in your life has its time and place, just make sure they give you much more energy than they take. Life is way too short for anything else.

One of the most rewarding aspects of getting older is knowing what and who makes you feel good. What gives you energy and makes you feel wholesome and safe. Old friends are amazing, there is something beautiful and comforting about people who’ve been in your life for a long time. Who’ve stuck by you through different phases of life, who know your parents and maybe even knew your grandparents. But there is also something truly profound about new friendships. People you choose to have in your life not because of history but because they enrich your life in a way you didn’t know you needed. Extra bonus if they are a couple of years older and you get all that wisdom and experience (right now that’s teenagers for me) that you lack yourself. Ebba and Jonna are “new” friends and I count myself the luckiest lady around for that. 💛
