POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If we haven’t met yet, hi, I’m Jonna 🤍

I’m an interior designer, and I spent years living abroad and coming home with rugs, textiles, ceramics, and the stories of the people who made them. Those stories shaped how I design homes, and eventually, how I design trips.

The Loaded Trunk is small-group travel for curious women. I plan every detail myself: the makers we meet, the tables we sit at, the places we stay. No tour buses, no crowds, and access you wouldn’t find on your own.

Coming up in 2027:

🇲🇽 Oaxaca · February 1–7
🇲🇦 Souks, Sand & Sea, Morocco · March 1–11
🇲🇦 Private Tangier · April 12–17, an intimate design trip inside the homes and gardens of some of the city’s most celebrated designers and collectors, limited to 7 guests

Details on every trip are in my pinned posts and at the link in bio 🔗

Some of the best lighting designs start with an idea that doesn’t exist yet.

Jonna Robison came to Hammerton with a vision inspired by the organic beauty of ice. Our custom product design team worked alongside her to translate that inspiration into a completely original fixture, crafted specifically for her project.

This is what custom lighting makes possible: taking a designer’s idea and turning it into something that feels entirely their own.

From a unique material or architectural detail to a shape found in nature, we’re constantly working with interior designers to bring ideas to life that can’t be found anywhere else.

Have a vision? Bring it to us. We’ll help you make it real.

A home that feels like a love letter to the landscape.

Jonna Robison’s Mountain Modern Retreat layers natural materials, collected treasures, and handcrafted Hammerton lighting into spaces that feel warm, soulful, and deeply rooted in place.

Every detail tells a story. Every room feels like it belongs.

A home should tell a story. For Park City designer Jonna Robison, that story starts with place.

We’re kicking off our new Design Partner series with Jonna and her Mountain Modern Retreat—a project shaped by her travels, the Mountain West landscape, artisan craftsmanship, and a thoughtful collection of materials.

Jonna also partnered with Hammerton on custom lighting throughout the home, including a dining chandelier inspired by melting spring ice and a design that went on to inspire our Luna Collection.

Step inside the project and discover the collaboration behind it.

I only paint where I have stood.

Someone recently asked me why, and I was surprised that I didn’t fully know the answer.

Tossing around some ideas:
* build a map of self
* figure out where I belong
* document my transformation
* create life order
* cling onto emotion, memory, longing

Travel leaves an emotional residue and stillness. We carry it home in photographs.

These four works are from my Utah Tar Snake series, inspired by repaired ribbons of asphalt cutting across roads.

Thoughts?

Beautiful interiors set the tone. Decorative lighting brings them to life.

Designed by @jonnarobison , this mountain modern retreat layers organic textures, sculptural forms, and warm contemporary details to create a home that feels just as striking as it does inviting.

The lighting was designed to complement that experience, adding atmosphere and emotion long before the sun goes down.

I didn’t expect the road in Utah to become the subject. They call them “Tar Snakes.” I couldn’t stop seeing them as works of art.

What I saw on the ground changed my printmaking. The last pic broke my rules and will provide another series coming soon.

'By now, most people have heard of the decades-old “slow food” movement, or possibly another “slow” spinoff, all of which are rooted in improving quality of life through a more intentional and sustainable approach to eating, traveling, and living. Think slow, locally grown, lovingly prepared food vs. industrial fast food, or in the fashion realm, slow means durable, sustainable materials and ethical production in contrast to the Sheins of the world, which mass-produce inexpensive clothing from cheap, often toxic fabrics. Fast fashion is made quickly and ends up in the landfill even quicker."

What is slow luxury? I spoke with local #parkcity interior designers for their take.

“Quiet luxury is an aesthetic. Slow luxury is a mindset within the process,” says Hope Chappelle of @hughenhouse .

We just had the pleasure of staying in British artist Gavin Houghton’s Tangier home, and what a feast for the senses. A joyful cacophony of color and pattern, filled with art, beautiful ceramics, and the most wonderfully quirky objects. It felt like a window into the long, rich tradition of artists who have been drawn to this magical city perched at the top of North Africa.
There’s something so special about staying in an artist’s home when you travel. It shifts the way you see everything… the city, the culture, even the light.
