🤝 POLE VAULT: A TEAM EFFORT 🏃‍♂️✨

“Two are better than one… For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Pole vault may look like an individual sport. One athlete, one pole, one bar, and one goal. But behind every vaulter is a team of people helping them rise. 💪

From coaches providing guidance, to teammates offering encouragement, to family members cheering from the sidelines, no vaulter succeeds alone.

The pole vault journey is full of ups and downs, challenges, failures, and breakthroughs. Having people who support you, pick you up when you fall, and celebrate your progress is vital to your growth—not just as an athlete, but as a person.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Just as a strong team makes a vaulter better, a strong support system helps us stay grounded, persevere through challenges, and keep reaching for new heights. 🪄⬆️

So, as we chase new PRs and clear higher bars, let’s remember to appreciate the people who help us get there. Because the best victories are never achieved alone!

🔥 DO IT ANYWAYS. 🔥

Tired? Show up anyways.
Frustrated? Work through it anyways.
Having a bad practice? Keep going anyways.
Not seeing the progress you want? Trust the process anyways.

Pole vaulting teaches us that strength isn’t built only on the good days. It’s built on the days when things feel hard, when the bar keeps falling, when progress seems slow, and when you have every reason to give less than your best.

It’s about showing up, embracing the challenge, and choosing to get better even when it’s uncomfortable. Every rep, every plant, every run, and every jump is an opportunity to grow. 💪🏽

You won’t always feel motivated. You won’t always get the results you want. But you can always choose to show up and give yourself a chance.

Don’t wait for the perfect day. Don’t wait until you feel ready. DO IT ANYWAYS. 🏃‍♀️🚀

Because the strength you build in the hard moments carries far beyond the runway.

The love of God is more than a feeling. It is the foundation of who He is. It is patient, faithful, sacrificial, and unchanging. He loved us first, long before we knew how to love Him in return. ✝️

1 John 4 reminds us that we cannot truly know God without learning to love others. His love isn’t meant to stop with us. It’s meant to flow through us. In our words, our actions, our forgiveness, and the way we treat people when it’s difficult.

💜There is NOTHING like the joy of pole vaulting! 🥹

That rush when you plant the pole, take off, and feel yourself fly? It’s addicting. There’s a feeling that’s hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it yourself. It’s a mix of adrenaline, trust, courage, and pure JOY. 🪽

As an athlete, I fell in love with that feeling. Now, as a coach, one of my favorite things is watching my athletes experience that same joy for themselves. Seeing their faces light up, watching them chase new heights, and witnessing that moment when it all clicks reminds me why I fell in love with this sport in the first place. ❤️

The bar gets higher. The challenges get tougher. But that feeling? There’s nothing like it.

Once a vaulter, always a vaulter. 🏃‍♀️💨

MY SIS GOT MARRIED!!

Words can’t even express how much I love you both. My best friend in the whole world is married to her new best friend 🥲! I am so lucky to have gained another brother and I admire your guys’ love for the Lord so much. This day was absolutely perfect and I’m so glad I got to be apart of it! Lyndi you looked like the most beautiful woman in the world, you were GLOWING, and Jonny you cleaned up pretty well too! I loved every moment of this day, from getting ready with you Lyndi, to helping you put your dress on, to taking pictures, to seeing everyone’s reactions to how amazing you looked, to dad crying the whole entire day, to seeing you walk down the isle, to seeing Jonny cry, to see you both laugh, to dancing with you and seeing you and Jonny just being in each other’s presence. It couldn’t have been more perfect. You guys inspire me every day. I love you both so much!!

Preseason looks a little different around here! 💪🏼

During preseason, my athletes get the chance to get their workouts in on their own. While I definitely miss getting to spend time with them, it’s pretty awesome to see them taking ownership of their training and putting in the work! 🔥

Pole vault drills? ✅
High bar abs? ✅
Showing up and getting better? ABSOLUTELY. 💪🏼

Rule 2 in pole vault: NEVER LAND ON YOUR FEET! 🚫🦶
This is a rule I teach—and harp on—with my athletes because safety comes first.

Pole vault is an extreme sport. During both practice and meets, your landing can be unpredictable and out of your control. Trying to land on your feet can put your feet, ankles, and knees at serious risk. Your foot or leg can twist, get caught in the mat, or absorb the force in a way that leads to injury.

And remember: not all landing mats are the same. Some newer mats can be stiff, while older mats may be much softer and more “squishy.” Either extreme can create its own challenges when you come down from the sky.

So when you’re falling from 10, 12, 14, or 16+ feet…

BE SMART. LAND ON YOUR BUTT! 🍑💥

Good technique isn’t just about clearing the bar—it’s about knowing how to safely finish the vault.

Vault high. Vault smart. Vault safe. 🏃‍♂️🦘
