Community Spotlight | NBL1 x U12’s

From our youngest rising stars to our NBL1 senior players, the strength of our #PhoenixFamily is in the connection, support and passion we share for the game.

In the lead-up to the U12 State Championships, some of our NBL1 Men’s players, including a former player, took time out to visit our U12 Boys teams at their training sessions, sharing their knowledge, experience and encouragement with the next generation of Phoenix stars.

A huge thank you to Jamaal Robateau, Jackson Birmingham, Jono Janssen and Darnell Robateau for giving back to our juniors and helping them prepare for the State Championships.

As Coach Brendan Pender shared:
“It means so much to have players such as Jamaal, Jackson, Jono and Darnell come down and work with our U12 boys and we greatly appreciate their willingness to assist.”

And Coach Ben Collins summed it up perfectly:

“It is such a credit to the Senior Players taking the time out to work with our star juniors. I hope they know how much it is appreciated”

This is what #PhoenixFamily is all about.

Our junior players aren’t just watching their NBL1 role models from the sidelines. They’re learning from them, training alongside them and seeing firsthand the pathways and possibilities that lie ahead.

It’s these moments that make our association more than just basketball. We’re building those connections, inspiring confidence and creating a community where every player, from U12s through to NBL1, belongs.

Thanks boys for stepping up and giving your time.
