Deadpoint over and out // London heatwave summer dump 💛 18 months crafting five episodes with the most magical team.

It feels strange and super emotional to have finished and emerge from our Deadpoint bubble, but I'm so proud of everyone's work on this show.

Coming sometime in the near future...TBC!

In July 2015, a lion called Cecil was killed with a bow and arrow by an American dentist called Walter Palmer. The story went viral, Cecil was projected onto the Empire State Building, Palmer was cancelled and then everyone moved onto the next story.

I’ve made a feature doc which pulls apart the messy reality. Apologies if it puts anyone off going on safari!

Beautifully shot by @johannperry, masterfully cut by @jobygenius8 with a stunning score by @jonopstad.

I hope you can watch it on Channel 4 tomorrow night at 10pm or stream after!

Mihhail’s Little Nightmares 😨 🔥

Reigning Estonian National Champion Mihhail Selevko 🇪🇪 claims a season's best in his short Program Grand Prix de France 🇫🇷 and once again reminding everyone why he’s one of the most captivating performers in men’s skating today.

Total Segment Score: 80.17 (SB)
Total Element Score (TES): 41.97
Program Component Score (PCS): 39.20

Music:

The Sounds of Nightmares by @tobias_lilja
Mephisto's Lullaby by Xtortion Audio
Bodies Main Title by @jonopstad
Dracula (Nate Sees Cassie) by @labrinth

Choreographer: @adamsolya

Reusing his acclaimed short program from last season, set to the haunting soundtrack of the video game Little Nightmares, Mihhail proves just how effective this program truly is. It feels tailor-made for him 😳 dark, atmospheric, and rich with emotion allowing him to showcase his striking artistic identity 👏🏻👏🏻

I fell in love with this program the moment I first saw it last season. It’s one of those rare programs that only grows stronger with time as Mihhail continues to deepen his connection to the story and elevate its impact!!!

a perfect choice for this Olympic season. Little Nightmares remains one of Mihhail’s defining programs, and he’s delivering it with more maturity and conviction than ever. 👏🏻👏🏻

OUT TODAY! This one’s been a long time coming… Evolutionary Etude, performed by the fantastic @fenellaviolin , @philharmonia_orchestra and @tenebraechoir. It’s the first single from my new album of screen music released later this year. Link in bio!

Musical instruments can be thought of as bit binary - traditional, electronic etc. For a long time I’d been wondering: what if we could evolve more seamlessly between different sounds? Over the last few years I’ve been experimenting with this in a series called Morphations – and Evolutionary Etude is the first. In form it’s a traditional classical study, but where the violin (and at times the orchestra) evolves into a synth and back again. Hoping it might feel like something you’ve not quite heard before!

We recorded this back in 2023 and I got to collab with @jonopstad on synth design, total synth wizard and king of hardware! Thanks also to the ever-brilliant @jakeatair for the mix, @ingenalexander for engineering/co-producing and Nigel Short conducting. Release day’s always a bit scary in honesty… love to know what you think! 🎶

Had the most incredible time taking my film CECIL to @mountainfilm in Telluride, hands down the most spectacular setting for a festival! Such great audiences and stimulating Q&As. So honoured to have picked up an award too. Made with an exceptional team of people. Coming to @channel4 later this year.

Multi reedist Bennie Maupin was an essential component in the sound of Herbie Hancock’s 1973 jazz funk odyssey “Head Hunters”. His second solo album is a groove laden record that continues the work he started with Hancock.
