In 2025 @blahrecords co-founder and Runcorns new town retro futuristic ignorant philosophical rap legend @tinfoilfronts would release a remix project of his 2021 album - '[Gate Clicks Shut]' via his own imprint UpsideDownCrossFace, originally fully produced by @twoswordsbeats, formally known as Hyroglifics. Lee Scott would assemble 13 different producers with the task of remixing a track, most are the original recording from the og album while some were constructed using alternate takes such as "Sacrificial Goat" (Live and Chill Version) with @blackjosh616 which has a whole new chill vibe recorded in Melbourne Australia while the duo were out touring the country. Also "All On Tick" (The Slummy Version) now features a verse from @swampsideslummy instead of the original feat from Estonian Väike PD. There's also feature verse appearances from @king_grubb, Bigg Jus, @yungpuff6hunna and @bethegun. The list of producers selected to remix this album includes the likes of @its_farma_g/@its_farmabeats, K-nite, @reklews, @jehstofficial, @matt.frost__ & @itssumgii, @mr_slipz, @illinformedrld, o k h o, @jonphonics, @spectacular.diagnostics, @broommanherro, Elroy De Lacey and @tom.caruana. #leescott #gateclicksshutremixes #upsidedowncrossface #ukhiphop #vinyl

it’s now been a month since 'mali' landed, and i think this moment (at the @village_underground launch) was when i first started to realise just how deeply it was connecting... at @touching_bass, i’m very intentional and blessed to work with music of the highest quality. even within that, a few records stand apart as statements for the mission. 'mali' already feels like one of those projects — a vital, contemporary addition to the jigsaw of black british music. its reverence will only grow with time. universally championed by listeners, musos and — crucially — the artists @shyclart herself holds in highest regard. knowing one of her intentions was to create music that could dance alongside the pioneers, it must feel so good to see the real ones raising a gunfinger in salute. the first edition of the vinyl sold out in under a week (repress now available). even if you’re strapped for cash, run/stream the riddims through at least thrice... truth is, what people hear now as 'mali' has been a long, patient journey behind the scenes. one fuelled by a deep sense that shy deserves to be flying even higher than she already is. it’s no secret she has consistently been one of the most vital voices doing this ting for some time now. so many people helped bring this to life. to mgmt — for their patience, belief and fire throughout. to our press and promo teams, who understood the depth of this record and communicated it with care, tenacity and clarity — we’re deeply grateful. to the crew who made that album shoot day so iconic, big up unnu self. to team tb — our small but mighty team continues to move mountains. people would have no idea that we only work together once or twice a week. our budgets may be small, but the imagination and ambition is enormous. imagine what we could help realise with proper resources… a reminder: running an independent entity in 2026 is incredibly difficult. every listen, every t-shirt, every vinyl sale goes straight back into sustaining this work — and continuing to answer to this weighty responsibility i feel: to reflect the breadth and beauty of the black diaspora in the most authentic way. happy first (month)

From last summer to this summer I’ve dropped this music piece by piece, record by record, visual by visual. I wrote this whole project while going through a lot but focusing on the positive. I used the writing process to really challenge how I saw my surroundings. Clearing out the negative and stagnant energy, and filling space with dope riddims, heavy bars, and fly wordplay.
